COBB COUNTY, GEORGIA: A man facing charges for a South Carolina homicide was found guilty of a Cobb County double murder.

Lester Piercefield, 29, received a life sentence along with an additional 25 years for fatally shooting a man and a woman and injuring a third person, reports Law&Crime.

After the murders, investigators discovered compelling evidence against Piercefield, which significantly contributed to the charges brought against him.

On July 11, 2022, the Cobb County Police responded to a shooting at an apartment in the 400 block of Westwood Place in Austell.

Upon arrival, officers found Yolando Speller outside the residence with a gunshot wound to the face.

Inside the home, Jeremy Davis, 27, and Lena Wolfe, 24, were discovered dead with multiple gunshot wounds to the head and face.

Despite being injured, Speller provided officers with a description of the vehicle and the suspect.

Detectives promptly identified the car through surveillance footage, revealing the suspect's vehicle entering the apartment complex at 4.08 am.

The vehicle was traced back to Lester Piercefield. Subsequently, law enforcement tracked him to nearby Paulding County, where they apprehended him.

Investigators later uncovered that Piercefield had spent time socializing with his victims Wolfe and Davis before fatally shooting them.

At around 2.30 am, Piercefield and Wolfe brought Davis back to Speller's residence, where he was currently residing. About 90 minutes later, Piercefield and Wolfe returned to Speller's home without clear reasons.

As per prosecutors, they entered Davis' room, and, "within minutes," Speller heard the sound of gunfire.

When Speller came to check, Piercefield purportedly opened fire on Speller, striking her in the eye.

Prosecutors allege that Piercefield used two firearms, discharging at least eight rounds: four into Davis' body and two each at Speller and Wolfe.

Senior Assistant District Attorney Stephanie Green claimed, “It takes an especially evil and heartless man to slaughter two parents and attempt to kill a third.

Davis was a father of two little boys. Wolfe was a mother of three young sons. It is sickening that these five boys are left only with memories of their mom and dad.”

Wolfe’s fiance Wendell Evans asserted that her youngest was just 5 months old at the time of the shooting.

He added, “They keep asking me, ‘Where Mommy at? Now I got to figure out how to tell these kids. I haven’t even told them that their mom is gone.”

Earlier this month, a jury found Piercefield guilty of two counts of murder, aggravated assault, aggravated battery, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
