ATLANTA, GEORGIA: First Lady Jill Biden tweeted following the first presidential debate of this election cycle saying, “I’m so proud of Joe” for the incumbent president’s performance against the 2024 presumptive Republican nominee, Donald Trump.

On Thursday, June 27, President Joe Biden along with Dr Jill Biden, stopped at a Waffle House in Atlanta for their post-debate meal when the following reporters asked the Commander-in-Chief regarding his assessment of the debate performance.

The 81-year-old Democrat statesman replied, "I think we did well."

When asked about the increasing pressure from Democrats for him to drop out of the race and whether he is concerned about his debate performance, Biden stated, "No. It’s hard to debate a liar. The New York Times pointed out he (Trump) lied 26 times.”

However, per DailyMail, the current President of the United States did admit to feeling unwell, stating, "I have a sore throat."

What did Jill Biden tweet after conclusion of first presidential debate?

The First Lady posted a video of herself on X, formerly Twitter, saying, "You heard Joe's heart tonight on the debate stage. He wakes up every morning thinking about how he can make the lives of Americans better.”

“He's the president we need, the president you deserve,” she added. “Sign up at JoeBiden.com to help finish the job.”

The wife of President Joe Biden came under fire for congratulating her husband at a post-debate speaking arrangement for “answering every question” in the TV debate with former President Donald Trump.

“You did such a great job, you answered every question and you knew all the facts,” the FLOTUS remarked.

“Let me ask the crowd, what did Trump do? Lied,” she claimed.

President Biden, known for his public slip-ups and verbal blunders during his tenure, stumbled through several sentences and appeared to slur at one point during the first presidential debate.

There seems to be a growing concern among Americans including top Democrats after the sitting POTUS showed repeated moments of forgetfulness onstage, sparking internal discussions about finding a replacement for him as the party's 2024 presidential nominee.

The White House pair are reported to travel to Raleigh, North Carolina, where they’re scheduled to attend a Democratic campaign event on Friday, June 28.

One X user remarked, "Ma’am. Time for an honest conversation with your husband."

Another user said, "You should seriously be ashamed of yourself for putting your elderly husband though that. What an absolute embarrassment."

Another user wrote, "He could barely form a sentence. You should be ashamed of yourself for encouraging him to further embarrass himself and ruin this country even more than he has."

One user quipped, "Jill just let the man retire and touch grass."

Another user claimed, "As a doctor you should be ashamed of yourself for letting him debate with a cold."

Finally, this user tweeted, "Jill, respectfully, I am a die hard dem and Biden fan, but this is hard to watch. For the good of the country, Biden needs to step down."
