BETHLEHEM, PENNSYLVANIA: Governor Tim Walz faced criticism from MAGA supporters after a slip-up at a rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday, September 21, where he seemed to unintentionally suggest that a change in party leadership was needed.

While campaigning for Vice President Kamala Harris, Governor Tim Walz declared, "We can't afford four more years of this," a phrase usually employed by candidates challenging an incumbent. The ironic twist? Harris and her running mate aim to succeed fellow Democrat President Joe Biden, not replace him.

The comment quickly caught fire among Republican circles, with the Trump War Room Twitter account posting, "WALZ FINALLY TELLS THE TRUTH: 'We can't afford four more years' of Kamala Harris."

Tim Walz advocates for stricter gun control

During the rally, Tim Walz was discussing his efforts to enact stricter gun control measures in Minnesota. "Things like we did in Minnesota, to have enhanced background checks and red flag laws, to get guns out of there, to make a difference," the Minnesota governor stated.

"And I still got my guns to go shoot pheasants in a couple weeks…" Walz was saying before abruptly pausing to address a rally attendee in need of medical attention. "We need some water, can we get [a] check on him?" the governor said pointing to someone in the audience.

After ensuring help was provided, Tim Walz returned to his speech and launched into a critique of Donald Trump and his running mate, Senator JD Vance.

"I'll bring her home here quick, folks," Walz said. "Look, Kamala Harris made it clear these guys want to instill fear. They want to tell you… just get over it, it's a fact of life. This is the way it is."

"[Harris] simply has said it doesn't have to be this way," the Democrat added. "It doesn't have to be this way. We can't afford four more years of this."
