Mahogany Jackson's family got worried when her mother received disturbing texts from her. Jackson sent these messages to her mother and sister, along with her location.

"She sent me a text message that said she was being held hostage and sent her location,’’ her mother said.

Her location was at Serenity Apartments in Birmingham's Powderly community.

Jackson's mother was on her way to pick up family members from the airport when her daughter called about the texts.

Maddox saw the messages when she checked her phone at 7:46 am. She missed calls on Facebook Messenger because she was already on the phone.

Family and police rushed to Serenity Apartments but couldn't find Jackson.

A woman who was a resident of the apartment knew Jackson and claimed that she had left at 2 am but Maddox had a doubt about it.

Maddox feared something bad had happened. She said her daughter wouldn't ask them to call the police unless she was scared.

A search for Jackson was planned for 9 am but was called off.

As of February 27, 2024, No one has been arrested.
