Marco Rubio says every country he visited offered condolences for Charlie Kirk: 'He had a special impact'

GLENDALE, ARIZONA: Secretary of State Marco Rubio told Charlie Kirk’s memorial service in Arizona that he initially doubted Kirk’s ambitious vision of taking conservative ideas to college campuses but later admired him for his determination.
“Maybe 10 or 12 years ago, someone told me about this impressive young man who wanted to convince students that America is the greatest country in history and that Marxism was wrong,” Rubio said.
“I’ll admit, I was a little skeptical. I thought, why not start somewhere easier, like Communist Cuba? But my skepticism was proven wrong,” he said on a lighter note.

Rubio said the scale of Sunday’s service reflected Kirk’s influence. “The president of the United States is here. His entire cabinet is here. Television and media outlets from all over the world are covering this,” he noted.
“I just came from overseas, and in every country I stopped, they offered condolences for his passing.”

The Secretary of State emphasized Kirk’s lasting effect on young Americans. “Charlie had a very special and direct impact on young men in this country.
His movement was about politics, but it was deeper than politics,” Rubio said.
“He made a difference. He mattered, and he will matter now more than he ever has before,” he added.
Thousands of people gathered at the State Farm Stadium in Arizona for Charlie Kirk's public memorial and funeral, with many camping out in line before sunrise.
