Marianne Williamson slams Biden's 'arrogance' for not quitting 2024 election, calls for 'brutal honesty'
WASHINGTON, DC: Marianne Williamson has openly criticized President Joe Biden for dismissing calls to quit the 2024 race.
The former presidential candidate suggested that Biden's refusal to withdraw reflects "arrogance and stubbornness.”
Marianne Williamson says she felt bad for Joe Biden struggling at pivotal news conference
In her post on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday, July 12, Marianne Williamson referred to Joe Biden's concluding press conference at the NATO summit and wrote, “On one hand I feel compassion for the president, and found myself feeling bad for how he was struggling during the press conference last night."
“On the other hand I feel disdain for the level of arrogance and stubbornness that enables him to put the Democratic electorate through this drama,” she tweeted.

Williamsons' comments come as Biden faces backlash following his disastrous debate performance against Donald Trump on June 27.
During the first live debate in Atlanta, Biden appeared to lack energy and stumbled throughout the event, sparking concerns among Democrats and supporters about his age, mental fitness, and ability to serve another four-year term.
Several Democrats who questioned Biden's capability to defeat Trump in the November election called on the 81-year-old commander-in-chief to drop out of the 2024 race and allow another candidate to run for president.
Marianne Williamson's says it's 'time for some brutal honesty'
Marianne Williamson has joined the chorus of voices urging Joe Biden to withdraw from the presidential race.
Earlier this month, the onetime spiritual advisor to Oprah Winfrey hinted at a potential third run for the presidency after launching and suspending a bid in March 2023 and subsequently relaunching her campaign earlier this year.
However, following the June primaries, she officially withdrew from the race. Williamson also argued that Biden needs to be replaced in the race.
A day after the concluding news conference at the NATO summit on Thursday, July 11, Biden claimed at a campaign event in Michigan that voters made him the nominee and made it clear that he would not drop out of the race, according to The Hill.
In her Friday post, Williamson stressed that Biden's stubbornness is costing him votes.
“Democratic leaders have been kindly and respectfully telling President Biden he’s done a great job and now his greatest gift to the nation would be to pass the baton. Clearly, that’s not working," she wrote.
"I think it's time for some brutal honesty, tough love, and whatever might be done among the delegates themselves to change the trajectory of this campaign," she added.
