NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) took to the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to publicly agree with fellow Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) over foreign aid policy on Friday, April 12.

The statement came as a massive surprise for netizens as the two Congresswomen from opposing parties are poles apart in their ideologies and takes, and hardly see eye-to-eye over any issue.

The issue that brought the conservative and progressive politicians together was the foreign funding bill, seeking to provide aid to Ukraine and Israel. Both Greene and AOC stated that they should not be linked together and placed separately in front of Congress.

However, that was the extent of the agreement between the two, as the former was in favor of America not providing any aid to foreign nations in war, while the latter was in support of Ukraine receiving funding.

Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene's tweet

Greene retweeted a post by AOC that read, "Ukraine aid should not be contingent on unconditional military aid to Netanyahu and the forced famine of Gazans. That’s what this package does. Decouple them and I’ll sign on tomorrow. Ukraine aid on its own has the votes to pass, incl mine."

"I never thought I’d be saying I agree with AOC, but Ukraine and Israel war funds should not be tied together," wrote Green in her tweet.

"But that’s about as far as I can go. I actually think America can’t afford to fund any foreign wars. We should only be fighting the war on our own border," she added.

Internet reacts to Marjorie Taylor Greene's tweet

"I am shocked :)," commented a user responding to MTG's tweet.

"Well, hot-damn and hallelujah! Are my eyes deceiving me or did I just see that Marjorie Taylor Greene agrees with AOC on one point? There is hope yet to be had! It starts with one point but could cascade into many more. I am hopeful it does, I truly mean it. Democrats also need to be able to see where they can agree with Republicans. It goes both ways. Marjorie, you gained some points with me today and I’m happy to admit that!" exclaimed another.

"Starting to read the room eh?" jibed a third.

"And they said it wasn’t possible. See…it’s not difficult," wrote a fourth.

"I respect it, stand on business," stated a fifth user.

"Let’s compromise and get you out of Congress. That’s something almost everyone can agree upon," jibed a sixth.

"I’ve seen a lot of both side’s agreeing on certain aspects. That means we all see red flags," noted another.

"The hypocrisy has come full circle with these ignorant clowns. It's Hilarios!!" chided an eighth user.

"Holy shit… I actually agree with perjury Taylor Greene and AOC… I’m actually stunned," expressed the ninth.
