WASHINGTON, DC: The former Georgia representative, Marjorie Taylor Greene (MTG), who resigned from her post on January 5 over a widening rift with President Donald Trump, accused the commander-in-chief of betraying America over a foreign war.

Marjorie Taylor Greene shared a post on X on Saturday, August 1, writing that she and several other conservative allies had supported Trump based on his promise to keep America First, but he allegedly failed to do so by waging foreign wars.

She further reiterated that the America First “movement has begun.”

“We said no more foreign wars and we meant it and supported Donald Trump because he made that promise. But he’s betrayed us all,” MTG wrote in the X post.

“Our commitment is America First for all Americans, right, left, and center,” she added.

As she accused Trump of betraying the America First movement, she shared a photo with her partner Brian Glenn, Tucker Carlson, Thomas Massie, Joe Kent, Massie’s wife, and Kent’s wife, all appearing to be at a dining table.

MTG’s partner, conservative media personality Brian Glenn, resigned from his position as Chief White House Correspondent for the right-wing streaming network Real America's Voice (RAV) on May 7.

Glenn was placed in an increasingly awkward professional position after Greene fractured her relationship with Trump and resigned from Congress.

The fallout between MTG and Trump

The explosive political fallout between Donald Trump and Marjorie Taylor Greene transformed one of Trump's most devoted conservative defenders into one of his fiercest public critics.

The conflict between Trump and Greene intensified over Greene's demand to release the Epstein files and Trump's alleged abandonment of the America First movement.

The final fracture began when Greene bucked Trump and GOP leadership to sponsor the Epstein Files Transparency Act, joining hands with victims to force a House vote to release all federal documents regarding the late Jeffrey Epstein.

Greene is also opposed to the 2026 US war against Iran, framing it as a "senseless," unnecessary conflict that directly betrays Trump’s original "America First" campaign promises.
