NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene took to X (formerly Twitter) to highlight the plight of youngsters struggling to find suitable employment after getting multiple college degrees and a massive student loan debt on Wednesday, March 27.

To illustrate her point, Greene tweeted a social media clip by @jebrafaushay, where a college graduate with two degrees and a certificate complained that the only job offer she could get was from a tech company asking her to receive customer service.

"No offense, but I'm a little more qualified than to just be sitting around answering your customer service calls, Bart, okay? I'm sorry. But Bart is the only one who's responding to me. So what am I supposed to do?" the job seeker asked in the clip.

Marjorie Taylor Greene feels sorry for 'this generation'

"I feel so sorry for this generation," began the US Representative for Georgia in the tweet sharing the reel. "They have been told they must work hard in school, taking AP high school classes, getting multiple college degrees from woke universities, and end up in a mountain of debt only to try to enter a job market that hardly exists for them," she said.

"And now most of them won’t be able to afford to buy a house in America’s decaying economy. It’s not fair and it’s not their fault," Greene continued.

"Our education system should be so excellent that high school graduates can walk out as certified electricians, truck drivers, plumbers, and our colleges should be so effective that students can become certified teachers, nurses, and mechanics in a short amount of time without being crippled in debt," she added.

"Young people need hope for their future and it’s our responsibility to create a system that is ripe for opportunity for them. They should never feel like this young woman does," the Congresswoman further said.

Internet reacts to Marjorie Taylor Greene's tweet about jobseekers

Netizens were not overwhelmingly sympathetic toward the jobseeker in the clip and called her a "snob".

"Trade schools. Blue collar work. We need to stop telling kids that a gender studies degree is more important than a roofer or a welder," a social media user said.

"The lie they've been sold is that a formal education actually qualifies them to do more than answer phone calls," stated another. "Quite honestly, those degrees will hinder their ability to do that. Encourage your kids to go to trade schools!" they added.

"These kids don’t understand we all start at the bottom," another commented.

"Or, maybe she can not be snob, take the customer service job and prove her worth, then get promoted or move within the company. But hey, they are expecting to be hired at the top or middle management... with no real wold experience. An what are the degrees? Useless or useful?" asked one individual.

"Colleges have pointless degrees and these young kids get lured into it as easy majors and then can't find a real paying job," wrote another.
