WASHINGTON, DC: The House Oversight Committee has continued its investigation into Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden after the formalization of an impeachment inquiry against the President, which took place before Hunter remained absent at a GOP-led closed-door deposition.

In the latest update by the Oversight Committee on December 28, it has been noted that Rep James Comer and Rep Jim Jordan are investigating whether President Biden “sought to influence or obstruct” his son's cooperation with the House’s impeachment inquiry.

It was also noted that the aforementioned conduct “could” constitute an impeachable offense. Republican congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene has weighed in on the update and claimed that it “is” an impeachable offense.

Marjorie Taylor Greene weighs in on Oversight Committee update

On X, formerly known as Twitter, the official account of the Oversight Committee stated, “🚨BREAKING🚨@RepJamesComer & @Jim_Jordan are investigating whether President Biden sought to influence or obstruct his son's cooperation with the House’s impeachment inquiry.”



 

It also stated, “Such conduct could constitute an impeachable offense.”

Attached to the post was also a letter to White House Counsel Edward Siskel. The letter sought to examine whether or not President Joe Biden “corruptly sought to influence or obstruct the Committees’ proceeding by preventing, discouraging, or dissuading his son from complying with the Committee’s subpoena.”

After the Oversight Committee shared the letter and a brief of the same to social media, congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene was quick to respond.

She wrote, “This is an impeachable offense.”

After Marjorie Taylor Greene put forth her statement on the progress made by the House Oversight Committee and the letter sent to the White House Counsel, the internet brutally slammed the Congresswoman.

One user wrote, “So many impeachable offenses according to all of you, yet more nothing will happen. I wonder if MAGA is starting to figure out all of you are all talk and no action, and why. 🤔.”

Another wrote, “More good laughs from you carnival roadies trying to make people believe you’re serious investigators.”



 



 

“Your entire existence in Congress is an impeachable offense,” wrote one user, while another shared a gif that read, “Here we go again.”



 



 

Greene continued to face backlash online as one user wrote, “Actually I kind of like when you post something. It gives me a giant list of people to follow when they call BS on your post. Thank you."

Another wrote, “Grasping at straws I see.”
