WASHINGTON, DC: Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga) took to the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to promote far-right conspiracy theories following the conviction of Hunter Biden in a federal gun trial on Tuesday, June 11.

According to The New Republic, the Congresswoman merged two competing theories shared by conservatives together, implicating both Hunter Biden and his father, President Joe Biden.

Conviction of Hunter Biden

According to CNN, Hunter Biden was found guilty by a jury in Wilmington, Delaware, on three federal felony gun charges. The first two counts were for lying about his drug use on a federal background check form during the purchase of a firearm, and the third count was for having the item while addicted to a controlled substance.

Sentencing is usually set for 120 days following a verdict, the judge stated in the trial. The convict could face up to 25 years in prison and a fine of up to $750,000 at sentencing. However, since Hunter Biden is a first-time offender, he is likely to receive far less.

Marjorie Taylor Greene's conspiracy tweet

Hunter Biden's guilty verdict was met with two primary conspiracy theories by the right-wingers. The first claims the conviction is meant to weaken the outrage against the Department of Justice following the hush money trial conviction of Donald Trump on May 30.

The second insists that the motive of Hunter Biden being found guilty is to distract the public from the allegations against Joe Biden of accepting a bribe to coerce the Ukrainian government away from investigating a gas company whose board member was his son.

Referring to both, Greene wrote on X, "The biggest crimes of the Biden Crime Family remain untouched. Millions of dollars from foreign influence peddling into Joe Biden’s bank account. Hunter Biden just became the Deep State’s sacrificial lamb to show that Justice is 'balanced' while the other Biden crimes remain ignored."

Internet shuts down MTG

"Prove it or shut the f**k up you dumb sasquatch," slammed a user responding to Greene's post on X.

"The biggest crime of Georgia is having elected you to Congress," jibed another.

"Boo hoo Marge. Boo effin hoo. Here come the conspiracies because you all have nothing else," mocked a third.

"Just a reminder. Hunter is a convicted felon, but he's not running for President. Trump is a convicted felon and you're endorsing him for the job," chided a fourth user.

"Show us the evidence," quipped a fifth.
