WASHINGTON, DC: Mark Levin condemned the recent Democratic National Convention, labeling it an “abomination” designed to celebrate what he described as Kamala Harris’ “palace coup” against President Joe Biden.

Levin's remarks have sparked significant controversy and debate over the state of American politics.

The four-day DNC concluded on August 22 with Kamala Harris accepting the nomination of her party for president. In her speech, she pledged a "new way forward" for all Americans, stressing a message of unity and urging voters to reject Donald Trump.

Levin discussed last week's DNC on the Sunday, August 25, episode of  'Life, Liberty & Levin'.

Mark Levin's critique follows Joe Biden's withdrawal amid internal party pressure

Mark Levin’s allegations come in the wake of Joe Biden’s withdrawal from the presidential race, a decision attributed to mounting pressure from within his own party and diminishing poll numbers.

After his dismal performance in the presidential debate against Donald Trump on June 27, there were calls for Biden to drop out of the race. Concerns were being raised across the political aisle about his mental acuity and ability to lead the nation for another term.

Biden finally withdrew from the 2024 race on July 21 and endorsed Harris in his stead.

Donald Trump has alleged that Harris played a pivotal role in Biden’s exit. Harris has overtaken Trump in several recent national polls, intensifying the political drama.

On 'Life, Liberty, and Levin', Levin asserted that the convention represented the “fascist disenfranchisement of millions of voters".

He added, “We’re defending the Constitution. Which brings us directly to the Democrat Party convention last week. What was it? What was that convention? It was a farce. It’s a farce of a democratic process.”

Mark Levin denounces DNC as 'potemkin' convention

Mark Levin characterized the event as “an abomination of authoritarianism on full display".

He said, "Glitzy, highly produced, star studded. The media was slobbering all over, media analysis, wall to wall coverage, music, all the rest, dancing. It was an abomination of authoritarianism on full display. That’s what it was. It was a potemkin convention, a fake, fraudulent convention celebrating the successful palace coup by Kamala Harris, the vice president, against Joe Biden, the president.”

He continued with his strong critique, “That’s what it was. Wasn’t Obama, wasn’t Pelosi. It was Harris. She overthrew the president. She did. They create the pretense of a Democratic primary that had all the markings of a fascist disenfranchisement of millions of voters.”

Levin further argued, “They toppled the party’s democratically elected nominee for a buffoonish, incompetent, inexperienced, extremist ideologue who would never and could never receive the presidential nomination through a legitimate process. Not one damn vote."

"That’s the way dictatorships, Marxist regimes, military juntas, monarchies, Islamist states, that’s the way they operate. This is a first for the United States of America. It’s happening right in front of your eyes.”
