‘The Marvelous Mrs Maisel’ actor Wenne Alton Davis, 60, dies in car accident
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Wenne Alton Davis, 60, an actor known for a role in 'The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel', died after being struck by a car in Manhattan.
She had been returning home to Queens after dinner with friends when the crash occurred.

The crash happened on Monday, December 8, as Davis was crossing Broadway and West 53rd Street in Midtown Manhattan. Authorities said a Cadillac SUV making a left turn hit her while she had the right of way.
Emergency responders found Davis with severe head and body injuries and rushed her to Mount Sinai Hospital, where she died later that night.
The 61-year-old driver stayed at the scene and had not been charged as of the latest update. The incident is under investigation by the city’s collision-investigation unit.

Life and career of Wenne Alton Davis
Davis, whose real name was Wendy Davis, appeared in a 2023 episode of 'The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel', portraying a police officer opposite the lead character.
Her screen credits included roles in 'New Amsterdam', 'Girls5eva', 'Blindspot', 'American Odyssey', and a 2011 drama film. She also appeared as an officer in the 2011 Michael Fassbender–Carey Mulligan film 'Shame'.
Beyond acting, Davis worked in security at John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK).
She was remembered by colleagues and friends for her deep love for New York, her craft, and her community.
She identified as queer and listed they/them pronouns on her Instagram profile, though friends also used she/her pronouns when referring to her.
“I can only describe Wenne Davis as a bright light,” her agent Jamie Harris of Clear Talent Group said in a statement to The Advocate.
“She had a huge love for New York, for acting, and, most of all, for her family and her circle of friends, which was also huge. She was someone for whom friendliness and kindness were not what she did but who she was as a person."
