PIERRE, SOUTH DAKOTA: Mary Trump, the estranged niece of Donald Trump addressed South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem's shocking revelation that she reportedly fatally shot her 14-month-old dog to death.

Mary claimed that Noem's dog shooting would appeal to the former president amidst speculations of her Vice President candidacy, according to Newsweek.

Kristi Noem shared that her dog had an 'aggressive personality'

An excerpt of the governor's book 'No Going Back: The Truth on What's Wrong with Politics and How We Move America Forward' was published by The Guardian on Friday, April 26.

In the book, Noem shared an account of fatally shooting her dog, Cricket, whom she described as "untrainable" and had an "aggressive personality."

She shared that to help Cricket learn how to behave, it was taken for a pheasant hunt with the older dogs.

However, Cricket went "out of her mind with excitement, chasing all those birds and having the time of her life" during the hunt.

The dog escaped the governor's truck and proceeded to attack a family's chickens.

Noem then claimed that when she tried to control Cricket, it "whipped around to bite me."

"At that moment, I realized I had to put her down. It was not a pleasant job, but it had to be done," she wrote and revealed that she shot the dog after it was led to a gravel pit.

Will Kristi Noem be Donald Trump's next running mate?

The disturbing revelation comes amidst speculations about Noem's presidential candidacy for vice president in 2024.

In an interview with Fox News in February, Trump hinted at considering Noem and six others as his possible running mate.

However, the Republican governor shared in February that she and the former president have "never had that conversation" about her candidacy.
