MANHATTAN, NEW YORK CITY: MSNBC host Joy Reid had a confrontation with a pro-Trump reporter during the former president's hush money trial on May 29, and which spurred the liberal commentator to call him “a f**king idiot".

The incident occurred as journalists were entering a Manhattan courthouse to hear the jury instructions before deliberations began.

Joy Reid calls MAGA reporter 'a f***ing idiot' during heated exchange at Trump trial

The incident unfolded as MAGA-friendly network Real America's Voice reporter Ben Bergquam asked Reid, "Joy, just wondering, do you think people with Trump Derangement Syndrome know they have it?"

"You’re an idiot," Reid responded.

Bergquam's follow-up question was more personal.

"Did you steal Trump’s haircut or did he steal yours?" he asked.

Reid, host of 'The ReidOut', was more direct in her second response, calling him "a f**king idiot."

Bergquam posted a clip of the awkward exchange on X, tagging about three dozen right-wing accounts, including those of Tucker Carlson and Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene.

So far, the activities of Trump supporters outside the criminal hush money trial have mainly involved heckling, shouting matches, or, in Bergquam's case, any encounter with the potential to go viral.

As per CBS News, the first day of jury deliberations in Trump's "hush money" trial in New York concluded without a verdict. During their discussions, jurors requested to review several pieces of testimony and to have the judge's instructions repeated.

A follower observed, "@BenBergquam !!!!!! When I say I’ve watched this 100+ times I’m not even kidding!!! This is GOLD!!!! You are hilariously savage my guy!! Best thing I’ve seen on here in a while!!! "

One comment stated, "She is a disgusting, vile human being…wait, is she human?"

"Love you Ben ..!! Keep up the good fight!," explained an individual.
