Meg Ryan and son Jack Quaid make first public appearance together in nearly nine years
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Meg Ryan and her actor son Jack Quaid were seen together for the first time in many years during a public event on Saturday, September 19.
The mother-son duo hit the red carpet for the opening night of the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art in Los Angeles as they posed and smiled together for the cameras.

Ryan looked chic in a black jacquard midi dress with ruffled trim, which she paired with a pair of black shades and a silver cuff bracelet.
Towering over his famous mother, Jack, whom the veteran actress shares with her ex-husband Dennis Quaid, donned a dark gray suit over a white shirt. The actor, 34, paired it with a black printed tie. He was also seen flaunting his wedding band on his left ring finger.
The ‘Novocaine’ star married Australian actress Claudia Doumit in April this year.

Meanwhile, the Saturday outing of the mother-son duo came nearly nine years after they were seen together at a New York Knicks game in December 2017.
But in 2023, the ‘When Harry Met Sally’ star fiercely defended her son against the nepo baby label.
She told Glamour in late 2023, “Jack is really talented. He’s more of a natural than I’ll ever be. That nepo stuff is so dismissive of his work ethic, his gifts, and how sensitive he is to the idea of his privilege.”
A few months later, when Jack was asked about his mother’s statement, he simply reportedly replied, “My first thought was like, she’s being a mom. She’s being a loving mom. But I don’t think she's trying to say that I’m not a nepo baby. I think she's just trying to say that, in her opinion, it undermines my talent.”
“I don’t think it undermines my talent. I know that I work hard, and I know I’ve heard ‘no’ way more than I’ve heard ‘yes.’ But I also know that this industry is insanely hard to break into, and I had an easier time doing that than most,” ‘The Boys’ actor explained, before adding, “Both things can be true. So no, I don’t think she was trying to say that I’m not a privileged person. She knows. She must know. I think she was being a mom.”

Ryan is also the mother of a daughter named Daisy True, whom she adopted in 2006. As per the veteran actress, they’re “two of the greatest kids.”
“They're just a blast. It is just a true joy,” Ryan added, before asserting, “It is a joy to me to know both of them.”
