During his appearance on 'Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace?,' Quaid, now 70, was asked how their joint celebrity status impacted their marriage.

He candidly recalled the shifts in their fame, noting how Ryan’s career soared during their relationship. "When I met Meg, I was here as far as career thing, and she was here," Quaid explained, using hand gestures to show their different levels of fame at the time.

"Then it just went like that," he continued, showing how Ryan's fame quickly surpassed his.

Quaid admitted that despite his efforts to be unaffected by the imbalance, it did take a toll. "I tried to be a big person and tell myself that didn’t bother me, but people are human," he shared.

He reflected on how Ryan’s career was on the rise just as he was facing personal struggles, including a stint in rehab.

"She was ascending as I went into rehab, and Meg is really such a great, sweet person and really talented and deserved all her success," Quaid revealed.

Even with the challenges that came from being in the public eye and the pressures of their careers, Quaid stated that he doesn’t hold any regrets about their marriage.

He acknowledged the most significant outcome of their union - their son, Jack, who has become a rising star in his own right.

"But I don’t regret anything about my marriage to Meg, and we got Jack Quaid out of it, who is really going on to maybe eclipse both of us," Quaid said, beaming with pride for his son.

Though their marriage eventually came to an end, Quaid has repeatedly stated that it was the "most successful relationship of my life," despite the pressures and media attention.

However, the pressures of fame, along with alleged infidelity on both sides, ultimately led to their separation in 2001.

At the time of their breakup, rumors swirled about Ryan’s relationship with her 'Proof of Life' co-star, Russell Crowe.

The pair were spotted together, sparking speculation that Crowe was the reason for the end of Ryan and Quaid’s marriage. However, Ryan was quick to clarify that Crowe wasn’t the cause of their split.

In a 2006 interview on 'The Oprah Winfrey Show,' Ryan set the record straight, saying, "I think once the tabloids get a hold of three celebrity names you’re just really in trouble… I didn’t leave my marriage for Russell Crowe. I left my marriage."
