AUSTIN, TEXAS: Actor David Quaid told Joe Rogan that he cannot see "power obsessed" Democratic Presidential candidate Kamala Harris "in charge" of the US because she's "flipped on everything except for plastic straws."

Vice President Kamala Harris became the new Democratic presidential nominee in August after President Joe Biden stepped down from the Presidential race in July, as per The US Sun.

Dennis Quaid says Dems are 'concerned with being in power'

During a recent episode of the 'Joe Rogan Experience' podcast, Dennis Quaid, who is set to play Ronald Reagan in an upcoming film, expressed his views on the upcoming election.

Rogan commented on the Democrats, saying, "I think they're more concerned with being in power than they are with preserving the idea of democracy."

He asked Quaid whether President Joe Biden was "running the country," to which Quaid responded that he "really can't see her being in charge."

Quaid said, "She's flipped on everything except for plastic straws." Rogan also slammed Harris for campaigning on eliminating a tax on tips.

Notably, GOP Presidential candidate Donald Trump announced his plan to eliminate taxes for hospitality workers during a Las Vegas rally in June. Kamala Harris too voiced similar support for the idea when she visited the city earlier in August.

Rogan claimed that Harris reversed her stance on the topic after voting in favor of the Inflation Reduction Act while serving as vice president, which he framed as a vote to tax tips. However, PolitiFact has rated this claim as false.

Quaid added he believes that Harris is "obsessed with power." He said, "I think they're more concerned with being in power than they are with preserving the idea of democracy."

However, he went on to describe himself as a moderate, explaining that he voted for Reagan, Bush, Clinton, and Obama. He also mentioned that he only opted not to vote once, in 2012, and cast his most recent votes for Trump.

Quaid said, "I was wanting [Republicans] to find another candidate that would kind of calm things down. I thought that's what we needed, to calm things down."

He added that things changed when Trump was charged, tried, and convicted of 34 felony counts in May. He said, "Then you're messing with the constitution, and you can't go back from that. That's why I'm jumping all in for Trump."

Internet divided as Dennis Quaid reveals why he can't see Kamala Harris 'in charge' of US

People on the internet stayed divided and shared mixed reactions as Dennis Quaid revealed to Joe Rogan that he cannot see "power obsessed" Kamala Harris "in charge" of the US because she's "flipped on everything except for plastic straws."

Some online comments read, "The reason you don't see him in movies anymore is because he was blacklisted from Hollywood for supporting Donald Trump," while one added, "This is exactly why JR is the GOAT of podcasts! These are 2 adult men discussing their opinions and not jamming them down each other’s throats!"

A person also stated, "If Rogan is afraid to interview/have a conversation with Trump, he should invite Kamala to sit down. What harm could that do, right?" whereas one mentioned, "Dude could play RFK Jr Too."

A user also wrote, "Get Trump and Harris on together.. or separately," while one commented, "C'mon Joe just have DT on. The world needs it."
