Megyn Kelly suggests Obamas’ marriage in trouble after Michelle hosts couples therapist on podcast

WASHINGTON, DC: Megyn Kelly reignited speculation over Barack and Michelle Obama’s marriage after reacting to remarks the former First Lady made on her podcast.
On 'The Megyn Kelly Show', the broadcaster said she was “gobsmacked” that Michelle had invited couples therapist Dr. Orna Guralnik onto her podcast and openly discussed her frustrations with the former president.
Megyn Kelly mocks Michelle Obama for therapist guest choice
“She cannot stand him,” Kelly claimed about Michelle’s relationship with her husband.
“First of all, she had a couples therapist, which is very interesting, her selection of guests, and Barack wasn’t there. She says it like we’re all gonna relate to sitting there at the dinner table with daggers in your eyes towards your husband or your mate, like he’s disgusting.”
Kelly closed her comments by declaring: “These two can’t stand each other. That’s the bottom line.”
Michelle Obama discusses 'empty-nest' marriage struggles
The controversy began when Michelle, who co-hosts a podcast with her brother Craig Robinson, spoke with Dr Orna Guralnik about marriage and relationships.
She admitted that after 33 years of marriage, she and Barack sometimes struggle to find things to talk about now that their children are adults.
“We always had kids to talk about on a day-to-day basis. But now that we’re empty nesters, it’s like, well, what are we going to talk about? We’re together all day.”
Michelle added that she and Barack occasionally save stories for dinner conversation. “It’s like, ‘Oh, don’t tell me until dinner, because we’ve got to have something to talk about at dinner,’” she said, joking about sometimes finding him irritating.
“The way you’re chewing makes me want to smack you up the head. Why is your chewing annoying me so much?” she laughed.

Rumors over Barack and Michelle Obama’s marriage grow
For months, rumors have circulated about the Obamas’ relationship.
Michelle’s decision to skip Jimmy Carter’s funeral and Donald Trump’s inauguration fueled speculation, though she said those were personal choices.
In April, Barack himself acknowledged he was in a “deep deficit” with Michelle.
More recently, speaking in London with historian David Olusoga, he admitted he had spent the past few years “digging myself out of the hole I found myself with Michelle.”

Michelle Obama dismisses divorce speculation
Despite the chatter, Michelle has publicly rejected the idea of a split. Speaking passionately, she said her marriage has endured highs and lows but never reached a breaking point.
“There hasn’t been one moment in our marriage where I thought about quitting my man,” she said.
“We’ve had some really hard times, a lot of fun times, a lot of adventures, and I have become a better person because of the man I’m married to,” she added.
