Megyn Kelly questions whether Jon Stewart's return to 'The Daily Show' will be a success
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Megyn Kelly recently opened up about comedian and TV star Jon Stewart's return to Comedy Central's 'The Daily Show', which he previously helmed for 16 years from 1999 to 2015.
The subject was brought up on the February 8 episode of 'The Megyn Kelly Show', when the former Fox News host was joined by podcaster Buck Sexton, who agreed with her in thinking that Stewart's fresh stint won't be as successful as his earlier glory.
Jon Stewart returns to Comedy Central's 'The Daily Show'
Starting on February 12, Stewart will be hosting 'The Daily Show' once a week on Mondays. The announcement was made in late January by Showtime and MTV Entertainment Studios.
Since the departure of Trevor Noah in 2022, the show did not have any regular host. In addition to his weekly hosting duties, Stewart will also be taking over as an executive producer, working with the other comedians who will take over for the remaining days of the week.

As per Kelly's report, Stewart took up the position after his Apple+ current affairs program 'The Problem' was discontinued after two seasons. The host and the tech company were allegedly at odds with coverage of topics like China and artificial intelligence.
Megyn Kelly questions whether Jon Stewart will be able to 'indoctrinate another group of growing leftists'
On her show, Kelly remarked, "(Stewart) is agreeing to come back, but he’s pulling the 'Rachel Maddow one night' on 'The Daily Show'. I’m sure he’s getting big bucks for it, and we’re going to have to listen to that nonsense once again."
She doubted whether the move would be a success, saying, "The question is whether he will be able – at this point in his career – to totally indoctrinate another group of growing leftists the way he did 14 years ago or whether he's jumped the shark as they say."
Kelly's guest, Sexton, opined, "Jon Stewart was a very lucky guy in the right place at the right time to do very bad things for political discourse in this country. A lot of what he did, I think, poorly served his audience… and is why there's so many emotionally unstable Democrats in their thirties and forties walking around who can’t handle an argument."
He further explained, "What’s different this time because I think there’s a greater degree of sophistication and understanding… about Jon Stewart's politics. He's a huge lib. He was a comedian, but he became a sanctimonious, whiny, old man when he left 'The Daily Show.'"
"The conservative ecosphere has just gotten too big and powerful for him to get away with that," expressed Kelly, before concluding, "He’ll try, but he’ll never have the power that you once had. It’s going to be fun."
