LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Former Fox News host Megyn Kelly has reignited her feud with Beyonce, aiming at the pop icon over her latest Levi’s ad. In a fiery post on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday, August 5, Kelly slammed Beyonce as “artificial” and “fake” after the singer appeared in a denim-clad campaign, wearing a striking blonde wig.

Kelly didn’t stop there; she also drew a sharp contrast between Beyonce’s ad and Sydney Sweeney’s recent, controversial campaign for American Eagle, claiming the two stars represent opposite ends of the spectrum.

“This is the opposite of the Sydney Sweeney ad. Quite clearly there is nothing natural about Beyonce,” Kelly wrote. She added, “Everything — from her image to her fame to her success to her look below — is bought and paid for. Screams artificial, fake, enhanced, trying too hard.”

The ad, released by Beyonce’s team earlier this week, features the singer in denim, wearing a curly blonde wig and her signature dark red lipstick. The campaign ties into her latest album, which includes a track titled 'LEVII’S JEANS'.

Megyn Kelly’s criticism of Beyonce followed a growing debate around a recent American Eagle ad featuring 'White Lotus' star Sydney Sweeney.

The ad, which included the slogan “Sydney Sweeney has great jeans,” sparked backlash from some online critics who accused it of promoting Western beauty ideals and even drawing associations with eugenics, due to its wordplay between “jeans” and “genes.”

Despite the controversy, Trump praised the campaign, calling it “the hottest ad out there,” and lauded Sweeney’s reported Republican ties.

In response to the criticism, American Eagle defended the campaign, clarifying that the message was always meant to focus solely on denim. “Is — and always was — about the jeans. Her jeans. Her story,” the company stated, reaffirming its aim to celebrate how individuals express themselves with confidence through what they wear.

Internet reacts to Megyn Kelly's criticism of Beyonce's Levi's ad

Megyn Kelly’s post on X quickly gained traction across social media, racking up over 3.3 million views, 27K likes, and 7.2K comments. The response online was mixed, with users both supporting and criticizing Megyn Kelly’s remarks about Beyonce.

One user questioned the ad’s creative choices, writing, “If blonde hair is such a symbol of what’s wrong in the world, why put her in fake blonde hair?”

Another simply agreed, saying, “You are right.”

Some echoed Kelly’s sentiments, with one commenter stating, “It’s a shame to see Beyonce and other entertainers try too hard as they age. This ad is not appealing and actually doesn’t attract the many people like farmers, construction, plumbers etc. that have been wearing Levi’s since we were kids.”

Others, however, pushed back. One user asked, “Why are you so jealous of Beyonce?”

Another added, “You’re just mad Beyonce made fun of you at the Cowboy Carter Tour.”

A more pointed comparison came from one user who claimed, “Sydney Sweeney looks way better than Beyonce, and Sidney is naturally beautiful. Beyonce is all fake.”

Another harsh critic commented, “She looks like s**t. Why is the left so into this artificial, totally ugly, imo, look? Fake hair, fake hair color, botox, so much make-up, just nasty!”

Not all the criticism was aimed at Beyonce. One user turned the tables, writing, “You seem jealous of a woman who is more beautiful and successful than you.”

Megyn Kelly previously criticized Beyonce

Earlier this year, during an appearance on Australia’s Sky News, Megyn Kelly accused Beyonce of portraying herself as a victim after discovering that footage of Kelly criticizing her had been included in the singer’s world tour.

The clip in question came from Kelly’s SiriusXM podcast, 'The Megyn Kelly Show,' in which she mocked Beyonce’s transition into country music following the release of her genre-blending album.

“Beyonce, who’s on some world tour right now reinventing herself as a country star, is running videotape during the show of yours truly,” Kelly said in a segment titled 'Beyonce Tries Playing Victim'. She took aim at the singer for what she called “sticking her big toe” into the country genre.

Kelly went on to describe Beyonce as “another one of the most privileged, beloved women in the world — and richest, based on her own fortune, never mind the man she’s married to,” referencing her fortune as well as her billionaire husband, Jay-Z.

Despite that, Kelly argued that the pop star still felt the need to portray herself as wronged, saying Beyonce latched onto “still has to look for the one sliver where she could play the victim and be aggrieved because big bad Megyn Kelly said something completely milquetoast about her entry into country music.”
