LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'Wicked' star Cynthia Erivo has written a very sweet note to her co-star Ariana Grande after the two surprised fans on Sunday, August 16, at The O2 Arena by singing together.
Grande was performing as part of her Eternal Sunshine tour when Erivo suddenly joined her on stage, before the duo mesmerized the audience by performing several tracks from their 2024 movie.

On Monday, the 39-year-old called the pop icon “my sweet sister” in an Instagram post.
Erivo also shared that Grande is her “favorite person to sing with” as she continued, “Thank you for inviting me to share your stage, singing 2 songs that represent such a massive part of our lives. This is what we do it for, for the love of the work and for all of the fans.”
“I missed this. We missed this. And I wish I had more words, but to put it simply, I will never forget this night. Like a handprint on my heart,” the British singer added, ending her note by signing, “All my love, Cynthia.”
The note was accompanied by photos of the two as well as videos of their performance.
Grande was clearly moved by Erivo’s message and responded, “I will always come back to this… just as it started. I'm so grateful for this moment & for you… love you always.”
The ‘We Can't Be Friends (Wait For Your Love)’ hitmaker’s O2 residency began on Saturday after it was reported that she would be taking a break from her public life following intense public scrutiny over her appearance.

Ariana Grande explains decision to take a break
According to a representative for Grande, the star “looks forward to finishing the tour and ending it on a high note, both healthily and happily, and then taking a much-deserved break from public-facing work and appearances, which has led to endless, ongoing public scrutiny.”
“This tour has been a beautiful experience for her. She loves her fans and has loved every minute of this tour so much,” they added.
Grande herself addressed her decision during her show in Chicago, saying it came from “a thoughtful and empowered place” and was “not a reactive or impulsive thing”.
“No matter what noises exist out there, nothing will ever be able to distort my reality or be more real to me or louder to me than this love that we share,” the 33-year-old added.
