WASHINGTON, DC: Megyn Kelly sharply criticized Donald Trump over his handling of the Iran conflict, accusing him of being misled by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Speaking on Thursday, April 9, during an appearance on Piers Morgan Uncensored, Kelly did not hold back, arguing that Trump’s approach could cost Republicans politically in the long run.

Megyn Kelly says Trump was ‘bamboozled’ by Benjamin Netanyahu
Kelly’s remarks centered on what she sees as Trump’s failure to push back against Netanyahu and key allies advocating for a tougher stance on Iran.
“Every other president was able to see through that liar!” she said, referring to Netanyahu, while accusing Trump of “buying into” the narrative around the Iran war.
She went further, saying, “We got here thanks to Bibi Netanyahu, Lindsey Graham, and Mark Levin, and… the president who was bamboozled.”
According to Kelly, Trump’s decisions were not driven by strength but by misplaced trust. “He was too weak to say no. He was too gullible to see through the lies,” she added.
Her comments come at a time when the US is navigating a fragile ceasefire agreement with Iran, making the political and strategic stakes even higher.
GOP faces midterm risk over Iran conflict: Megyn Kelly
Beyond criticizing Trump’s judgment, Kelly also sounded an alarm for the Republican Party, suggesting the fallout could extend well beyond foreign policy.
She argued that Trump’s handling of the situation could hurt the GOP in upcoming elections. “The GOP is going to lose midterms because he was too gullible,” she said.
Kelly also claimed that Trump’s current position, no longer facing reelection, may have influenced his decision-making. She suggested he might have acted differently under political pressure.
She said Trump would have “handled this a little differently” if he were still running for office, adding that Republicans are now left “picking up the pieces” from what she called an “insane conflict.”
Her remarks reflect growing frustration among some conservative voices who believe the situation has spiraled unnecessarily.
Megyn Kelly questions Trump’s commitment to Republican Party future
Kelly didn’t stop at policy criticism. She also questioned Trump’s commitment to the future of the Republican Party, suggesting his focus remains largely personal.
“He doesn’t care about the Republican Party. He cares about himself,” she said.
She added that Trump may not be invested in the success of future GOP leaders. “And I don’t think he cares that JD Vance or Marco Rubio wins the presidency next time around,” Kelly said.
Taking it further, she speculated about Trump’s mindset: “I think there’s a piece of Trump that would like to say, ‘I’m the only one who could do it. The Republican Party’s nothing without me.’”
Kelly concluded with a warning about the long-term impact, saying, “And the rest of us are gonna be around to pick up the pieces.”
