NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Former first lady Melania Trump made headlines recently with a candid and humorous appearance on Fox News 'The Five', offering a rare peek into the personal life of her husband, Donald Trump.

While on the show to promote her new memoir, 'Melania', the typically private Melania found herself in an unexpected exchange about her husband’s sleeping habits and nightwear, leading to a moment of levity, as per Daily Mail.

The interview, filled with both lighthearted banter and praise for the former president, marks a significant shift for Melania Trump, who has remained largely out of the spotlight as Donald Trump pursues his third presidential bid.

As she embarks on a media tour to promote her book, the former first lady gave viewers more than just a glimpse into her personal life with Trump.

Melania's appearance on 'The Five' took an amusing turn when co-host Greg Gutfeld asked an unexpected question about Trump’s sleeping habits.

“Does he ever sleep?” Gutfeld asked, referencing the former president’s well-known reputation for being an insomniac.

Melania confirmed that, indeed, Trump does sleep but not for long stretches, as many close to the former president have noted over the years.

“He doesn't sleep much. He does, of course,” she responded, showing a glimpse of her humor.

However, the interview took a playful and slightly awkward turn when Gutfeld pressed on, immediately asking if Trump wears pajamas to bed.

“No,” Melania responded with a laugh, clearly caught off guard. Gutfeld continued, pushing further by asking, “What does he wear when he sleeps, Melania?”

It was here that the former first lady, still smiling, made a zipping motion across her lips, signaling she would keep that detail a secret.

Melania Trump paints a softer and more personal portrait of Donald Trump

Amid the lighthearted banter, the interview also gave Melania Trump an opportunity to paint a softer, more personal portrait of her husband.

When asked by Gutfeld if there was something about Trump that the public might not know but should, Melania responded with endearing anecdotes that stood in contrast to the often brash image many have of the former president.

“He's very warm. He's fun. He has a great personality,” she shared.

Melania continued to praise Trump's passion for the country, stating, “All he wants – he's very passionate about this country – all he wants is to make this country safe so everybody has a job and enjoys family life.”

The former first lady also emphasized her husband's fairness, stating, “He's treating everybody equal. Man or woman. He could be tough on a woman. He could be tough on a man.”

Toward the end of the interview, co-host Dana Perino asked a more personal question, wondering if Trump has the ability to make his wife laugh.

With a smile, Melania confirmed, “Yes he does, of course.”
