NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Melania Trump criticized Vice President Kamala Harris for trying to distance herself from the hardships faced by Americans under Joe Biden's administration.

Speaking in an interview on 'Fox & Friends', the former first lady expressed concern over the state of the country, attributing its struggles to the leadership of President Biden and Harris.

Melania Trump says the 'record speaks for itself'

Melania Trump’s remarks focused on the failures of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris' administration as she highlighted that the American people are bearing the brunt of poor leadership.

Implying that Harris will not be able to repair the damage caused during her tenure, Melania said, “The record speaks for itself."

“The country is suffering. People are not able to buy usual necessities for [their] families,” she lamented.

In her first televised interview in two years, Melania noted, “We have wars going on. Soldiers are dying. They were dying under this administration because of weak leadership."

Melania Trump's concerns regarding US border security and fentanyl crisis

Expressing deep concern about the situation at the US southern border, Melania Trump described it as "open and dangerous."

The 54-year-old pointed to the influx of fentanyl crossing the border as a significant issue, stressing that it is "killing our youth."

“A lot of fentanyl is coming over, killing our youth. It’s very hard to see,” she said, according to the New York Post.

Melania Trump's reflections on her time as first lady

During the Fox interview, Melania Trump also reflected on her time as first lady, which was marked by both public scrutiny and personal challenges.

She noted that the fashion industry prepared her for the intense spotlight she endured while in the White House.

“Nothing prepared me more to be first lady in front of the world than the fashion industry,” said Melania.

“It’s glamorous, but it’s at the same time very tough. And, uh, as everybody judges you, looks at you a certain way,” she added.

The former first lady admitted that the experience gave her “thick skin” to handle the pressures of public life.

Internet trolls Melania Trump for mocking Joe Biden and Kamala Harris' administration

As Melania Trump mocked the Biden-Harris administration and praised her husband Donald Trump's election campaign, netizens trolled her remarks in her rare public statement.

One user on X (formerly Twitter) wrote, "I'm afraid you are a wee bit late in campaigning for your husband ma'am!" and another added, "Princess in the tower says what? Like she has a clue what regular people go through."

"She’s only pretending to be the loving wife to sell her shitty jewelry, Christmas ornaments, and the book she 'wrote,'" a netizen opined, while someone commented, "What she knows about suffering?"

"We know what we want and what Melania’s husband deserves: Prison …and, it’s coming," an individual remarked, and another wrote, "This woman is a joke."

Despite the harsh criticisms, few praised the former first lady's statements.

One user tweeted, "I love Melania Trump. She's the strength behind the man."

Someone else penned, "Interesting comparison It’s always insightful to hear Melania’s perspective on the administration changes."
