Melania Trump stuns in chic trench coat for White House Halloween after Jill Biden’s panda look

WASHINGTON, DC: Melania Trump made a striking return to the White House spotlight on Thursday, as she hosted a stylish Halloween celebration alongside her husband, President Donald Trump.
The 55-year-old first lady opted for elegance over costume flair, stepping out in a stunning brown trench coat dress that perfectly captured autumn’s mood, a sharp contrast to Jill Biden’s now-famous panda outfit from last year’s festivities.

Melania Trump embraces fall fashion with a touch of Halloween charm
Melania’s sleek trench coat, which featured a bold orange leather stripe running down the side, balanced sophistication with subtle Halloween flair. The warm brown tones complemented the season’s palette, while the orange detailing added a festive nod to the holiday.
Known for her impeccable taste, the former model’s fashion choices have long made headlines and this year’s look was no exception.
Her understated glamour was a departure from the playful spirit of Jill Biden’s Halloween style in previous years. Biden, 73, memorably dressed up as a panda bear during the 2023 celebration, and as the 'First Cat' in 2022, complete with furry sleeves and cat ears.

A festive White House celebration with a classic Trump twist
President Trump also added his signature touch to the evening, organizing a McDonald’s pop-up drive-thru experience for guests attending the festivities. Families visiting the White House grounds were treated to a mix of traditional Halloween treats and fresh produce-themed gifts.

This year’s event was co-hosted with The International Fresh Produce Association (IFPA), which contributed thousands of apples from Washington and New York states, along with vibrant mums and pumpkins for the decorations. Following the celebration, IFPA confirmed that all leftover pumpkins from Frey Farms would be donated to DC Central Kitchen, supporting local food assistance programs.

A wonderful opportunity to share the magic of fresh produce
“Halloween at the White House is a wonderful opportunity to share the magic of fresh, nutritious produce and florals with families from across the nation,” said IFPA CEO Cathy Burns.
“Whether it’s a crunchy apple, festive pumpkins or bright florals in seasonal colors, fresh products have a special way of connecting people to the moment and to one another.”

Frey Farms CEO Sarah Frey echoed the sentiment, adding, “Our pumpkins represent the strength of American agriculture and the importance of healthy, homegrown food. We are honored to support this tradition and to contribute to local food assistance through DC Central Kitchen.”

Event coincides with national concerns over food aid cuts
The White House celebration comes at a tense time, as millions of Americans face uncertainty over food benefits due to the looming government shutdown.
In a notice issued Sunday, the US Department of Agriculture warned that the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) could run out of funds by November 1, citing congressional gridlock as the reason.

“Bottom line, the well has run dry,” the statement read. “At this time, there will be no benefits issued November 1.”
