NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: A senior adviser to Melania Trump has offered fresh insight into what drove the first lady’s sudden public remarks on Jeffrey Epstein - an appearance that caught even political observers off guard.

The explanation, delivered by adviser Marc Beckman during his appearance on Fox and Friends on Friday, April 10, now serves as the central piece in understanding the timing and intent behind the presser.

Marc Beckman says 'enough is enough'

Speaking in the interview, Beckman highlighted the move as a deliberate pushback against what he described as a growing wave of distractions and allegations.

“First, enough is enough,” he said, suggesting that the decision was rooted in frustration over prolonged scrutiny.

He argued that the first lady’s work had been overshadowed and that the appearance was meant to redirect public attention.

According to Beckman, the goal was not just reactive but strategic.

“This has been ongoing, and it’s time for the public to refocus their attention on what achievements our first lady has done,” he said, pointing to her initiatives involving foster care, education, and international efforts.

He emphasized that her record, in his view, had been “so wide” that it warranted renewed focus rather than continued controversy.

Marc Beckman defines objectives behind presser

Beckman outlined what he described as three clear outcomes from the presser.

“First, she cleared her record. She set the record straight. She debunked all of the lies surrounding her and Epstein,” he said.

He then added that the first lady aimed to position herself as “a champion for these women, for the victims,” before concluding that she was asserting leadership by “calling on Congress to act now.”

He further attributed the timing to a mix of pressures.

“It was a combination of legacy media, social media, different corporate entities and personalities,” Beckman said, arguing that the broader environment had reached a tipping point.

Calling the situation a “question of nonsense,” he added that “lies and innuendos” had been circulating for too long without response.

Beckman said the first lady felt compelled to act.

“If she can’t stick up for herself, if she can’t defend herself and make sure that her reputation is impeccable, who will do it?” he said.

The explanation comes a day after Melania Trump publicly denied any connection to Epstein or Ghislaine Maxwell, stating she “never had a relationship” with either.

In her brief remarks, she dismissed circulating claims as “fake images and statements,” accusing unnamed actors of spreading “false smears” for political or financial motives.
