Another social media user appeared optimistic about the pair’s bond, writing, “They may have a happy moment.”

One commenter also corrected the original caption, writing, “That’s not her hubby tho. That's the actor Martin Short. They’ve been dating for a while.”

A netizen weighed in on the ongoing speculation, commenting, “Not married but def are a couple but both deny it.”

Dating rumors involving Streep and Short first began in January 2024 after they attended the Golden Globe Awards together. At the time, a representative for Short denied any romance, stating the pair were “just very good friends.”
