LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Liberal filmmaker Michael Moore has accused the Democratic Party of committing "elder abuse" by continuing to push President Biden to stay in the race, despite concerns over his health and performance.

Moore shared his views on MSNBC’s 'Ayman' on Saturday, expressing dismay over Biden's first debate performance against Donald Trump, which he described as "heartbreaking."

Michael Moore accuses of 'elder abuse' by Democrats

"The problem here is that I think there is a form of elder abuse going on here where the Democratic Party and the people that are part of the apparatus are pushing and pushing him to stay. And then he comes out and says ‘I am staying,’ and the family says 'I am staying,'" Moore said.

Moore, who has previously criticized Biden on issues such as his support for Israel during the Gaza conflict, acknowledged the president's accomplishments in enacting progressive policies but raised concerns about his ongoing ability to lead effectively.

"We need independent doctors or a doctor that will do a neurological exam, a full medical evaluation. Why don’t they do that? If it is all good, it will put to rest so much of this and then they can say he had a bad night. But they are not doing that. Why are they risking our country?" Moore questioned.

Michael Moore urges Biden's medical evaluation amidst growing concerns

Despite his reservations, Moore stopped short of calling for Biden’s immediate resignation but emphasized the urgency of addressing these concerns before they impact the upcoming election.

"I’d like to speak to one particular individual, that is President Biden," Moore said in an earlier statement on CNN. "[H]is chance of not being re-elected, I think at this point, is so great because of those numbers. Because he’s losing the youth vote. He’s lost the Arab American vote in Michigan."

Moore’s critique highlights growing apprehensions within the Democratic Party about Biden’s electoral prospects and his ability to secure key demographics, particularly in battleground states like Michigan.

As the debate over Biden's future intensifies, Moore’s outspoken criticism underscores deepening divisions within the Democratic base over how best to navigate the upcoming election cycle and ensure a competitive edge against Republican challengers.

In previous statements, Moore has warned of electoral consequences if Biden fails to address these issues effectively, particularly in crucial battleground states like Michigan.

Despite his concerns, Moore has also credited Biden with significant achievements, such as defeating Donald Trump in 2020 and advancing progressive policies.

One user wrote, "He’s correct, even though I have never agreed w/anything he has ever said."

Another user commented, "The only thing he has ever said that I agree with."

One user added, "Weird he’s just noticing this."

One user replied, "Yea, but I think he’s probably earned all the abuse we can muster."

One said, "Even Michael Moore bailed on Joe."

One added, "Thank you Michael for you irrelevant opinion."
