Michelle Obama floors DNC with power dressing inspired by sci-fi and aliens

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS: Michelle Obama was a vision in blue as she showed off power dressing during the Democratic National Convention on Tuesday, August 20. 

The former first lady of the United States of America took elevated dressing to the next level as she opted for a sleeveless navy blue suit by Monse for the political event. 

Obama sparkled like a diamond as she paired her deconstructed suit with matching silver earrings and tied her hair in a feminine braided style. 

Per The Independent, the mother-of-two’s attire was from Monse’s Resort 2025 collection. The brand’s co-creative director, Fernando Garcia, explained the style was inspired by sci-fi and aliens.

Tuesday’s DNC was a politically charged event with powerful speakers like Michelle Obama and Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris taking center stage. 

The former first lady’s electrifying speech resonated with the audience as she opened up about her personal experiences and beliefs. 

While Obama shared her confidence in Harris, she was welcomed with loud applause. 

During her speech in the evening, Obama - who was welcomed with a standing ovation from the crowd - also opened up about the personal grief she felt after losing her mother Marian Robinson on May 3, 2024, aged 86. 

Her poignant words amalgamating her grief for the state of the nation along with her personal loss captivated the audience members who were rapt in attention as she spoke. 

Obama confessed, "Until recently, I had mourned the dimming of hope in our country," before adding, "But recently, I’ve started to feel that hope spreading again," per Hello!

She also recalled the beliefs instilled in her by her late mother, while narrating, "My mother believed in the promise of this country, and she made sure I understood that belief.”

Showing her solidarity with the vice-president, she said, "Those same values are what Kamala Harris and I built our lives on."

"Even though our mothers grew up an ocean apart, they shared the same belief in the promise of this country," she remarked.

She went on to endorse Harris, praising her qualifications as president, saying, "Kamala Harris is more than ready for this moment.”

She declared, "She is one of the most qualified people ever to seek the office of the presidency."

Michelle Obama's dress for the occasion left the fans stunned as they hailed the former first lady for her impeccable style.
