Michelle Obama talks about doing things solo as rumors of turbulence in her marriage to Barack continue

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Amid rumors of marriage troubles in Michelle and Barack Obama’s lives, the former first lady has talked about doing things "by myself" in the latest episode of Amy Poehler's podcast ‘Good Hang’.
When the host asked her about the things she's all about now since she’s not in the public office anymore, Michelle said, “I want to try to do normal things... I want to feel like I'm by myself,” as reported by RadarOnline.com.
Michelle Obama now focused on ‘driving a little bit more by myself’
The 61-year-old also confessed to “driving a little bit more by myself... in the car by myself.”

During the same episode, Michelle discussed the stressful life she lived while being the president’s wife from 2009 to 2017.
She shared, “As first lady... the eight years, even beyond, the stakes were so high. And Barack and I, our team, we felt like we didn't have room to get anything wrong.”
Michelle Obama feels there's 'room to breathe' after more than decade of public life

The mother-of-two continued, “And in (this podcast), I can be loose. I can stutter. I can misspeak sometimes, even though I'm sure that will make the news. I just feel like there's room to breathe.”
“And maybe some of that is my age. Maybe some of that is that now that I'm in my 60s, what more do I have to prove? How much more do I have to do? And let's just let's just live. Let's just talk,” Michelle added.
This came after the attorney also revealed about taking therapy as she's “transitioning” into her new life after the Oval Office.
Michelle Obama opens up about being in therapy
“At this phase of my life, I'm in therapy right now because I’m transitioning, you know? I’m 61 years old, I finished a really hard thing in life with my family intact,” she stated.
Now since her daughters — Sasha, 23, and Malia, 26 — are adults now, she explained, “I now don’t have the excuse of, 'Well my kids need this,' or 'my husband needs that' or 'the country needs that.' So how do I think about this next phase, and let me get some help.”

Barack and Michelle Obama still ‘love each other deeply’

However, as per Hollywood insider Rob Shuter, Michelle’s not alone in therapy. Barack is also with her.
Shuter disclosed, “They love each other deeply, but marriage is work. They’re committed to doing that work – even now.”
“Barack’s always been comfortable with distance, and Michelle’s always been about presence. That dynamic hasn’t changed, even all these years later,” he stated.
