NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Mike Johnson clashed with CNN host Kaitlan Collins during his interview on 'The Source' as Republican House Speaker tried to refute claims that President Joe Biden will take cocaine before debating Donald Trump.

As per Forbes, in April, during an interview with conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt, Trump claimed Biden "was higher than a kite" during his March 7 address, alleging that Biden started off "all jacked up" in a baseless claim, one of many instances where Trump and his team has made such accusations.

When questioned by Collins about the disparaging remarks calling Biden a "cokehead."

"Knowing you and how you conduct yourself with decency, some of the rhetoric is out of line, when people from Trump's team are suggesting and Trump himself, that Biden is going to be on cocaine when he's on that debate stage Thursday night."

Listening to Collin's, Johnson attempted to downplay the malicious.

"Look, there's a lot of things that are said in jest," he said. "Of course, no one expects that Joe Biden will be on cocaine but they do ask questions — and I think their objectively... I mean I think it makes sense why — people are asking, 'Will [Biden] be on some sort of energy drinks or something, okay?"

He continued, "Look, his energy levels, you can see vary depending on what format he's in and what forum — and we expect that he'll do what he did at the State of the Union; he had a lot of energy that night, so that's the Joe Biden I expect to see."

Johnson then questioned whether Biden could match Trump, who has been touring the country holding rallies.

"The question is: Can he stay for 90 minutes on that stage and go toe-to-toe with President Trump, who has, you know, goes to rallies and talks for two hours on end without any break and any notes?"

He added, "So it'll be a very interesting thing to see."

Moving on, Collins further pressed Johnson further, highlighting the attempt to cast aspersions on Biden regarding cocaine.

"I mean, the allegations just about drugs have just been frankly ridiculous and obviously are baseless as well," she said.

On another news, the 78-year-old former president has frequently suggested that Biden might be medicated during the 90-minute forum. Over the weekend, he commented that Biden would receive "a shot in the a**" and come out "jacked up" for the 9 pm event.

As per The New York Times, on June 25, a senior adviser to Donald Trump suggested that President Biden would likely be using Adderall during first presidential debate on June 27, marking the latest insinuation from Trump's circle that his opponent might be under the influence during the event.

Chris LaCivita made these comments during a press call previewing the CNN debate, emphasizing that the Republican campaign has been cautious not to set expectations too low for the 81-year-old Biden, citing a series of perceived gaffes and unusual behavior.

“In terms of literally on video, it happens on a daily basis,” LaCivita said, before adding, “but you know, he’s probably going to be filled with Adderall. [like] he was at the night of the State of the Union.”

Mike Johnson blasted for brushing off cocaine allegations against Joe Biden as 'jest'

Internet slammed Johnson's attempt at downplaying any cocaine rhetoric aimed at President Joe Biden by former President Donald Trump.

One viewer expressed, "Mike Johnson obviously hasn't read his Ten Commandments. God doesn't like liars and neither do we. This idiot is lying on behalf of Donald Trump. Guess Fox News was fully booked and that is why he did this CNN interview."

Another viewer shared, "Little Johnson, why is it so easy to think Biden will be medicated without any proof, yet you disbelieve Trump is fraudster, rapist and tax evader that have been proven in a court of law? No, she didn't say that!"

One viewer pointed out, "MAGA Mike must be talking about Don Jr because Joe Biden wouldn't need to take drugs to sound coherent and not totally crazy. This is all projection."

A follower observed, "It isn't ribbing, it is a deliberate and obvious attempt to gaslight the public, something Trump and the GOP do all the time."

One comment stated, "Energy drinks is quite a downgrade from Cocaine. Johnson's attempts at downplaying the Trump campaign's lies and smears as mere jests is Grade A pathetic."

Another comment read, "Mike believes the earth is only six thousand years old and that dinosaurs and Men existed together. He is SECOND in line to be president. We are so screwed."

"Looks like the doping lie is the one they're settling on in case Dotard wants to pull out of the debate," explained an individual.
