Millie Bobby Brown reveals surprising 'life skill' she couldn't learn due to her time on 'Stranger Things'
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Millie Bobby Brown has disclosed one life skill she could not learn because she spent her entire childhood on the set of ‘Stranger Things.’
The actress, 22, appeared on a Monday, June 29, episode of the ‘Happy, Sad, Confused' podcast, where she said, “Well, I didn’t go to public school, so maybe a bit of socialization.”
Millie Bobby Brown says she has ‘harder time’ with old people
Explaining further, Brown shared, “Sometimes, when fans come up to me, they’ll be like: ‘Millie!’ And I’ll be like, ‘Ahh!’ And it’s not because I’ve … It’s just I don’t know how to react sometimes to people my own age. I have a harder time.”
“I grew up with primarily men on crews — let’s change that — men over 40 years old. So I heard a lot of adult talk growing up, and didn’t really talk about the things you’re meant to talk about as a kid. You hear, ‘Where’s the grip? Let’s grab a ladder,’ you know, that’s your whole conversation,” she added.
The ‘Enola Holmes’ star noted that she’s more comfortable with speaking about “different lens changes and shots” but she “can’t talk to you about, ‘Oh my god, what bars do you like around this area?!’ I’m like, ‘I don’t know.’ So I do lack a little bit of that.”
Millie Bobby Brown shares her husband Jake Bongiovi is quite different from her
Brown, however, also mentioned that her husband Jake Bongiovi is the complete opposite of her.
“He went to boarding school and college, so he is like a social butterfly. When I met him, I really tried to lean in more to that. So I’m in my social era,” she stated.
Elsewhere during the podcast, Brown revealed that she does not manage her social media accounts and has a manager for it since 2021. “I couldn’t do it anymore. So I needed to hire someone, for my mental health, to take care of it for me,” she said.
But the mother-of-one also told the podcast listeners that she captions her posts herself. “I still want to feel connected to my fans … I don’t want to see what people have to say about it because I don’t care,” she added.
Millie Bobby Brown referred to Tom Cruise as her friend
This came as earlier Brown called Tom Cruise her “dear friend” and also claimed to have flown his helicopter once.
“He's a dear friend. He's a wonderful man and I'm very lucky to call him my friend,” she said of Cruise. She further added that the ‘Top Gun’ star “does the craziest stuff. I think he's trying to get me to somehow fly a plane at some point,” before noting that she had "flown his helicopter before".
But Brown did not like the experience as she asserted, “I was like, 'This is the last time I ever fly any of his equipment.’”
