MEXICO CITY, MEXICO: Frequent incidents related to aircraft have been making waves, and one event, in particular, has garnered significant attention on social media.

A passenger was recently apprehended for opening the emergency exit of a plane and strolling on the wing. Interestingly, fellow passengers rallied to his defense, claiming that his actions had saved them.

In another incident that made waves on social media, a plane had to turn around due to a passenger who was excessively farting. The airline decided to ask the passenger to deboard the plane.

Yet another noteworthy incident involved an angry passenger hurling slurs at a flight attendant. Despite being asked to leave, the passenger refused, leading to an outburst that prompted the captain to deplane the aircraft.

Passenger arrested for walking on plane wing labeled a savior

As reported by the New York Post, a man faced arrest for defiantly exiting an airplane's emergency exit and walking onto the wing following a four-hour delay at the Mexico City airport. However, other passengers contested his arrest, asserting that he had saved their lives.

The Guatemala-bound AeroMexico plane, awaiting takeoff at Mexico City International, experienced a four-hour delay on Thursday.

The frustrated passenger left the plane through the emergency exit, re-entered without affecting anyone or the aircraft, and later turned himself over to the police, according to airport officials as per the New York Post.

Numerous passengers, as reported by the New York Post, signed a written statement expressing their discontent with the airline, claiming they were made to wait for four hours without ventilation or water during the delay.

They argued that the man's apparent outburst was an attempt “to protect everyone, with the support of everyone,” citing the adverse conditions created by the delay that endangered their health.

According to the New York Post, the statement emphasized that the man had saved their lives.

A handwritten statement on notebook paper, signed by at least 77 passengers aboard the flight, supported the man's actions, as depicted in photos. An incident report filed with the airport substantiated the passengers' grievances, as per the New York Post.

The report, according to the New York Post, detailed, “Around 11:37 a.m., a Mexican airline reported the beginning of a disturbance due to passenger discontent on flight AM672. The flight had been due to lift off at 8:45 a.m. Thursday, but because of a maintenance alert on the plane, the captain had to return to the gate for the required maintenance."

It further said, "The passengers were unhappy and one of them opened the emergency door and stepped out on the wing. This event required the plane to be changed.”
