WASHINGTON, DC: A video shared by White House Deputy Chief of Staff Dan Scavino offers a behind-the-scenes look at the moment President Donald Trump signed the Iran Memorandum of Understanding during a dinner hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron at the Palace of Versailles.

The footage, posted on X on Wednesday, captures the final steps of the agreement's signing process shortly before guests sat down for the state dinner.

"Just prior to this evening's dinner at Versailles in France, hosted by President @EmmanuelMacron—President @realDonaldTrump signed the Iran Memorandum of Understanding, once Secretary Rubio received it," Scavino wrote alongside the clip.

Video captures key figures during signing

The video shows Trump seated at a table in an ornate room at Versailles as Secretary of State Marco Rubio approaches with the document.

Trump appears relaxed as he reviews and signs the memorandum while guests and officials watch. After the signature is completed, applause breaks out across the room.

Rubio then collects the document and walks toward Macron. The French president is seen smiling, applauding, and saying, "Bravo," before shaking hands with Rubio. The clip also captures Rubio describing the occasion as "a pretty key moment in history we are sharing together."

Unlike previous reports that focused on the contents of the agreement, the footage highlights the atmosphere inside the room and the reactions of the leaders involved as the deal was formally put into effect.

Versailles backdrop adds to historic setting

The signing took place against the backdrop of the Palace of Versailles, one of France's most recognizable historic landmarks, where Macron was hosting the dinner.

The video shows attendees gathered around tables as the signing unfolds, giving viewers a rare glimpse of a diplomatic event typically seen only through official statements and photographs.

Macron later highlighted the significance of the agreement in a post on X.

"President Trump signed tonight at Versailles the agreement between Iran and the United States," Macron wrote.

He added that the agreement "paves the way for lasting peace and allows the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz," calling it "an important step in the right direction."

The video has drawn attention online for documenting the precise moment the agreement was signed, with Macron's applause, Rubio's role in delivering the document, and Trump's signature all captured on camera.
