WASHINGTON, DC: As the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) aimed at ending the war between the US and Iran nears its expiration with little indication that either side is prepared to extend it, Marjorie Taylor Greene is making a startling claim about what the Trump administration could do next.

The 52-year-old former Republican lawmaker, who left the party following a furious rivalry with President Donald Trump, claimed that the possible use of nuclear weapons against Iran is being discussed in US strategy meetings.

Greene’s comments came as the Middle Eastern nation fired back at Trump's claim that he would soon declare the Strait of Hormuz part of US territory, saying the crucial energy waterway it has blockaded "will remain Iranian."

Marjorie Taylor Greene reveals US’ ‘pure evil’ plan

The former Georgia Republican, who vacated her seat in January, took to X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday, August 16, claiming to know the Trump administration’s possible next move and condemning it as “pure evil.”

“They are discussing using nuclear weapons on Iran in strategy meetings. Yes you read that correctly. It’s real. I’m not speculating, I know,” she asserted.

However, she did not provide any concrete evidence backing her claim.

Greene accused the Trump administration of sidelining US intelligence assessments that found Iran was not actively pursuing a nuclear weapon, while instead giving greater weight to warnings from Israel.

"Trump and his admin were told by our own intelligence that Iran was nowhere near creating a nuclear weapon, then Israel said the same line it’s repeated for decades, 'Iran is only weeks away,'" she stated.

She also condemned the US’s attack on an Iranian school, saying, “So we bombed anyway, killed their leaders and innocent little children in a school, and Iran has controlled the Strait of Hormuz ever since and punished the region for their part in it.”

“Trump promised no more foreign wars, but may actually be the one who delivers a nuclear holocaust that would likely drag the entire world into major conflict, economic depression, and mass human suffering we’ve never seen in our lifetimes and maybe throughout history,” she continued.

Trump cuts US-South Korea drills after Seoul rejects Iran push

Greene’s remarks came after Trump announced his decision to scale down military drills with South Korea after Seoul declined his request to join the US in efforts to denuclearise Iran.

In a Truth Social post on Sunday, Trump claimed he had recently asked the South Korean President whether Seoul wanted to join Washington’s efforts to “denuclearise” Iran, but said the president declined, responding, “No thanks!”

He linked the decision to his instruction to substantially reduce the annual joint military exercises with South Korea, saying it was too late to cancel the drills entirely.

Trump also pointed to his “very good relationship” with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un while explaining his opposition to the joint exercises.

He argued that the drills were expensive and sent an unnecessarily hostile signal to North Korea, which he said had remained largely “unthreatening and respectful” during his presidency.
