WASHINGTON, DC: Former Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene has been vocal about the US-Iran conflict and has previously criticized President Donald Trump's decision to attack Iran.

Reiterating her concerns in a recent interview, Greene insisted that Americans deserve full transparency regarding the ongoing US-Israel military operations in Iran. She noted that citizens did not elect the current administration to involve the country in another foreign conflict, saying, "We voted for an end to foreign wars."

The Georgia politician emphasized that while the government must be held accountable, the military itself should not be blamed, as soldiers are simply following orders. Greene said the government must prioritize its people, adding, "I want to see Americans put first."  The US-Iran war has entered its 14th day.

Marjorie Taylor Greene says Americans deserve answers, Iran attack 'doesn't make any sense'

During an interview with Kaitlan Collins on 'CNN Live', Marjorie Taylor Greene made it clear that not only do Americans deserve answers about the US operation in Iran, but accountability is also needed for the tragic deaths at a girls’ school.

On the first day of the Iranian strike on February 28, an elementary school in Minab, Iran, was hit, killing between 165 and 170 people, mostly schoolgirls aged seven to 12. As per preliminary findings, outdated intelligence led to a US Tomahawk missile striking the school building, which was once part of a military compound.

Greene criticized the continued deployment of US troops to the region without a clear explanation. She asked, "Why are we sending thousands more US military troops? Why are we sending more of our military resources?" She expressed frustration that military focus is being diverted from other parts of the world where it is also needed.

She also condemned the lack of communication from Trump regarding the rationale for war, noting, "Here we are in a war with Iran and it doesn't make any sense."

Greene highlighted the human toll of the conflict, calling the attack on schoolchildren “horrific,” and said, "Americans, we don't want to think of our military as being responsible for killing little children." The former congresswoman emphasized that Americans are owed transparency and answers, adding, "This is absolutely something that Americans should not tolerate... we are owed answers."

She linked the war to domestic impacts as well, warning, "We've got families getting ready to go on spring break, and gas prices are skyrocketing... we're going to see costs at the grocery stores going up because diesel is going up, and oil is going up because of this war."

Marjorie Taylor Greene questions Trump’s remarks on Iran war

Marjorie Taylor Greene responded to Trump’s statement that the war in Iran will end “when he feels it in his bones,” saying, "I have no idea what that means. The same way, I have no idea what he means when he says he isn't going to Heaven." She called these statements concerning and emphasized that their meaning is unclear.

Trump recently described Iran as “in a mess.” On Friday, March 13, he posted on Truth Social that the US military had destroyed facilities on Kharg Island, a key Iranian location. He warned that anyone in Iran or elsewhere considering resistance should think twice, noting that the US military is becoming “sharper and more effective with each passing day.”
