NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: A mused Donald Trump claimed that he is "not 100% sure" whether his father is in heaven during a rally at Madison Square Garden in New York on Sunday, October 27.

The former president made the statement while speculating what the late Fred Trump’s reaction would be to all the investigations against him, reported the New York Post.

Donald Trump lamented to a packed crowd of around 20,000 people at Madison Square Garden that he was under investigation more than the "great late Alphonse Capone".

Trump told the crowd, "My father is looking down on me right now… he was a tough guy. But he was legit. And I know my mother’s in heaven. I’m not 100% sure of my father, but it’s close."

The GOP presidential candidate added, "They’ve weaponized the Justice Department against their political opponent. But he’s looking down at me right now and he’s saying, 'How the hell did this happen to my son? He’s not a bad person.'"

Trump was the first president to be convicted on felony charges in May 2024, when he was found guilty on 34 counts in the hush money case. The sentencing in the case has been delayed until after the election.

Donald Trump says he is a 'good person' at rally

Donald Trump went on to say that he is a "good person" which garnered roars of approval from the MAGA die-hards present in the crowd. He said, "All we want to do is straighten out our country."

Trump claimed in a 2015 Town Hall that he began his career in real estate with a "small" $1 million loan from his father. He said, "I started off in Brooklyn. My father gave me a small loan of $1 million."

He added, "I came into Manhattan. I had to pay him back. I had to pay him back with interest. But I came into Manhattan, I started buying up properties. And I did great."

The former president added, "You know, being the son of somebody, it could have been competition to me. This way, I got Manhattan all to myself!"

Many people on the internet trolled Donald Trump as he claimed that he was "not 100% sure" if his father was in heaven during a rally at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Social media users took to the comments section of the outlet's article to express their views on the same.

One reader commented, "Trump family has cheated the government on their taxes for over 60 years," while another said, "If you want to go to heaven, you must be born again."

One person stated, "Chances are Fred trump is in hell and trumpy seems to be heading there also," while another remarked, "We all know trumpy is a billionaire today because his father left him 250 million. We all know the one with the brains was his father."

One individual added, "Trump needs a good psychiatrist."
