WASHINGTON, DC: Representative Nancy Mace (R-SC) argued that electing Donald Trump, who played a significant role in stripping federal abortion rights from women, is "the best thing we can do" for "female empowerment."

During an interview on Tuesday, July 23, Mace shared her perspective on how Trump would attract women voters.

Mace’s comments came in response to 'Real America's Voice' host Charlie Kirk's query about countering vice president Kamala Harris' potential campaign focused on female empowerment.

Mace suggested that Trump’s record and platform on women's issues make him a suitable candidate.

"Getting behind Donald Trump is the best thing that we can do," Mace said during the interview, Raw Story noted.

"He is the guy that has preempted all of these issues concerning women," she said.

Mace noted that Trump had addressed criticisms of his abortion record by including IVF and contraception access in the Republican platform.

"He's the one that personally called me and asked me to get on stage at the convention," Mace recalled," adding "And I'm a suburban mom. I'm a single mom."

Mace said Trump’s willingness to discuss controversial topics like abortion sets him apart from Harris. "Donald Trump is willing to have this conversation. He supports women," she further said.

Donald Trump's impact on abortion rights

As president, Trump appointed three Supreme Court justices who were vital to reversing Roe v Wade, the decision that protected abortion rights at the federal level.

"After 50 years of failure, with nobody coming even close, I was able to kill Roe v Wade, much to the 'shock' of everyone," Trump said earlier this year.

Mace argued that Trump's administration included many women which she believes demonstrates his support for women’s issues.

"He had many women in his cabinet and in his administration. He can run on women's issues," she said.

Internet reacts to Nancy Mace suggesting Donald Trump is best for women empowerment

Internet reacted with sarcasm about Trump's ability of being best for the women as suggested by Nancy Mace.

"LMFAO..." wrote one user on X. Another joked, "Mace should be a comedian!"

Others questioned the empowerment claim, "Because they'll all be taking self-defense classes?"

Critics also expressed frustration with Mace's stance. "She's so pathetic," one user commented. Another wrote, "Only if empowerment means sexual assault."

Some found her assertion "shameful" with one user stating, "Female DISempowerment. Fixed it."

"Can any woman tell me that they feel empowered when creepy old men make choices for them regarding sex? Seriously. Is that empowerment?!" another user lashed out.

"Old men telling you what birth control to use and what you have to do when pregnant. Nancy Mace is incredibly wrong," the user added.

Despite Mace's defense of Trump's record, many online reactions were harsh.

"Girl is selling her soul hoping to be a part of his administration," one user wrote. Another added, "Omg if that is the best you got … I’m sorry."
