NBA star Bryn Forbes told baby mama 'if you can speak then you are not being choked' while assaulting her
SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS: Former San Antonio Spurs guard Bryn Forbes has been arrested for assaultig a woman - the second time in a year after he was earlier accused of striking his ex-girlfriend, Elsa Jean, after a reported argument escalated and turned physical, per TMZ.
According to jail records in Bexar County, Texas, Bryn Forbes was arrested on Tuesday, February 13 afternoon and booked on a felony domestic violence charge.
What did Bryn Forbes do?
According to court records, the NBA player's arrest was prompted by a reported violent altercation that he had on Monday, February 12 in San Antonio with the mother of his two children.
According to the documents, the woman, whose name has not been revealed, told officers that Forbes banged on her apartment's window, and when she let him in, "he immediately punched her in the head."
Officials say the woman told them Forbes then choked her with his forearms, the collar of her shirt and then his bare hands.
As per the documents, when the woman told Forbes she could not breathe, he allegedly responded, "If you can speak then you are not being choked."
According to officials, the woman informed them that although she was able to escape Forbes, she later experienced neck pain.
Forbes earlier got violent with then GF Elsa Jean
This is not the first time the 30-year-old hooper has been accused of getting violent with a female; back in February 2023, he allegedly hit his then GF Elsa Jean "several times" after a night out on the town in Bexar County.
According to Daily Mail, Bryn Forbes was taken into custody and charged with misdemeanor family violence and assault. Forbes and Elsa Jean argued before things got physical.
Prior to the event, the couple was staying at the La Cantera Resort & Spa. Forbes is accused of punching Jean multiple times during their alleged altercation on their way home. Forbes was taken into custody and lodged at the Bexar County Jail on a $2,500 bail after Jean's friend contacted the police.
Forbes last played for the Minnesota Timberwolves in the 2022-2023 season. He has not played, however, in the 2023-2024 season.
