The Australian actress passed away on December 7 at the age of 45, as revealed by her parents on Instagram.
Rachael Carpani fought a long battle with chronic illness
Rachael Carpani’s family took to social media to announce her death on her sister, Georgia’s, profile.
The statement read that it was with “great sadness’ that Tony and Gael Carpani announce that their “beautiful daughter” and beloved actress Rachael Carpani had died “unexpectedly but peacefully” after a long battle with a “chronic illness.”
The statement revealed that she had passed away on Sunday, December 7, and that her funeral would be held on Friday.
“The family requests privacy at this very difficult time and will be making no further statements,” the post concluded.
Co-star Bridie Carter’s tribute to late Rachael Carpani
Soon after the Carpani family announced Rachael’s passing, one of her ‘McLeod’s Daughters’ co-stars, Bridie Carter, paid respect to Rachael online. In an Instagram post, she wrote that it was the “most difficult post” to write.
She called Carpani the “baby of the MD family” and said that they loved and cherished her.
“This is the wrong order of things. We are better people for having the privilege of sharing time with you,” Carter wrote.
She further wrote that “Rach” would not only be missed by her friends and family but also by people “around the world.”
She prayed for her “blessed soul” while describing the late actress as “vivid,” “full of life,” funny, joyous, generous, and uniquely talented.
She also penned that Carpani was an individual with "energy, fervour, intelligence, resilience, courage and great humour."

Carpani was famously known for her role as Jodi Fountain in the Australian series ‘McLeod’s Daughters’.
Her role earned her nominations for Silver Logie - Most Popular Actress, and the Gold Logie - Most Popular Personality in Television.
Rachael Carpani also appeared in other Australian shows such as ‘800 Words’, ‘All Saints’, and ‘Home & Away’. The television actress also left a mark in America, with her roles in ‘The Rachels’, ‘Seeds of Yesterday’, ‘If There Be Thorns’, and ‘Against the Wall.’
Rachael also appeared on the popular television shows ‘NCIS: Los Angeles’, ‘Cane’, and ‘The Glades’.
