NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Neil Cavuto has aimed at Donald Trump after the former president accused Joe Biden and Kamala Harris of fueling a recent assassination attempt against him in Florida.

On Monday, September 16, Fox Business anchor Cavuto addressed Trump’s accusations during his program 'Cavuto: Coast to Coast' as he expressed concern about Trump’s tendency to deflect responsibility for his own remarks.

His criticisms of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris have become sharper, with Trump recently accusing them that their rhetoric contributed as a driving force behind an attack against him.

His allegations followed the arrest of Ryan Wesley Routh, who allegedly pointed a gun targeting Trump near a Florida golf course where the Republican presidential nominee was playing.

Suggesting that Biden and Harris were responsible for inspiring the gunman to act, Trump who did not provide any evidence to support his claims said, "They do it with a combination of rhetoric and lawsuits they wrap me up in."

"These are the things that dangerous fools, like the shooter, listen to," he said in an interview with Fox News Digital.

Neil Cavuto pushes back on Donald Trump’s remarks

During his show, Neil Cavuto pointed out the irony in Donald Trump’s accusations against his political rivals.

"I'm glad the former president is okay but this is the same guy who blamed Haitian immigrants for eating cats and dogs," said Cavuto.

"He's also the same person who argued that the administration condoned babies being killed after delivery—both of which were outright distortions," he added.

The Fox Business anchor emphasized that Trump’s own incendiary rhetoric was problematic, especially in the weeks following the presidential debate.

"He wasn't called out during the debate, despite what you say about the moderators. He's also made several racist comments about Kamala Harris," remarked Cavuto.

He acknowledged the heated political environment but expressed concern over the 78-year-old politician’s continued focus on blaming his competitors.

"He's now focusing on his opponents, claiming they're the reason he's being targeted," said Cavuto.

Speaking about the first assassination attempt during a campaign rally in Pennsylvania in July and the recent attack at the golf course, Trump said, "These are the things that dangerous fools, like the shooter, listen to — that is the rhetoric they listen to, and the same with the first one."
