NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Known for her witty and acerbic interviewing style, comedian Ziwe Fumudoh left the internet in awe as she dropped her highly anticipated sit-down interview with former lawmaker George Santos following his expulsion from Congress.

On Monday, December 18, the 31-year-old comedian premiered the interview on her YouTube channel, providing viewers with 18 entertaining minutes of unfiltered questions, roundabout answers, and awkward stares.

From a satirical stance, Ziwe asked Santos if he would "disappear" like Tinkerbell if everyone stopped "clapping" for him. He said, “No," which led her to ask him point blank: “What could we do to get you to go away?”

"Stop inviting me to your gigs," the former Congressman exclaimed to which the comedian replied, "The lesson is to stop inviting you places.” Santos then responded, “But you can't because people want the content.”

Ziwe asked Santos a 'below the belt question

At one point in the interview, Santos tried to defend himself, saying, “I don’t understand it. People accuse me of having no empathy. Maybe I can’t define ’empathy.'”

"I believe I’m empathetic to causes, to people, to situations,” he said, followed by Ziwe asking, "What excites you most about going to prison?"

"That's a below-the-belt," the Republican politician said, implying that they had agreed not to go there, according to Mediaite. But an unaffected Ziwe continued by asking, "Do you like the color orange?"

During the one-on-one interview, the comedian asked about Santos' reaction to Bowen Yang's impression of him from 'Saturday Night Live'. “I think he deserves an EGOT,” Santos said.

Ziwe followed by asking Santos if he would like Yang to play him in the HBO biopic being developed by VEEP executive producer Frank Rich based on Mark Chiusano's book 'The Fabulist: The Lying, Hustling, Grifting, Stealing, and Very American Legend of George Santos'.

“That movie is not ever going to happen,” Santos answered, adding, “The book has no perspective of me or anybody close to me. It’s a f***ing fiction.”

When asked how he’s paid for his designer clothes and Botox, Santos said, “I’ve always worked, Ziwe, so yeah, my own money. Like everything else I own.”

Santos, the sixth member of the House to be expelled, was the subject of significant public scrutiny before assuming office due to his proclivity for lying about his identity.

Internet reacts to Ziwe’s interview with Santos

Ziwe’s interview with Santos has garnered immense social media attention, with users praising her for her witty and acerbic interviewing style.

“Your facial expressions made this amazing. Thank you for not moving on and showing us he had no clue about civil rights leaders. No surprise as he is a gay man who joined the party that hates him for being himself,” one user said.

“Ziwe has really created a whole new genre of journalism 😂😂 this was brilliant,” the second user praised. “Oh Ziwe has learned a lot of these how-to trap someone games from housewives hahahahha,” the third user quipped.

“Ziwe you need all the awards!!” the fourth user hailed the comedian while the fifth one wrote, “The "but you love fiction" IS SO SHADY OMFG 😭😭😭”

“Dying at Ziwe doing Sutton Stracke’s name ‘em to George Santos,” one more said.
