Newly released UFO footage shows ‘silent’ red and green lights flashing over military site
WASHINGTON, DC: The Pentagon has released another batch of files linked to UFO sightings, including footage from Utah in 1952 and Colorado in 2023. The videos show groups of flashing lights moving across the night sky, with the newer footage reportedly filmed near a military site.
The release comes after President Donald Trump called for the government to identify and release more files linked to UFOs, unidentified aerial phenomena and possible extraterrestrial life.

Pentagon releases UFO footage from 1952 Utah sighting
One of the videos dates back to 1952 and was filmed in Utah. Several green lights can be seen flashing in the night sky, with some appearing clustered together as they move.
“US Navy Chief Warrant Officer Delbert C. Newhouse reported observing and filming a group of bright airborne objects and shortly thereafter submitted the footage to the US Air Force,” the Department of War said.

“The film later became one of the visual cases reviewed by Project Blue Book, the 1952–1969 US Air Force program that investigated the nature and origin of unidentified flying objects (UFOs).”
"The footage was later examined by the Air Force Photo Reconnaissance Lab in 1965. The lab reported that the lights were likely “caused by seagulls soaring in thermal air currents," the New York Post reported.
2023 Colorado UFO video shows flashing colored lights
The latest files also include footage from a 2023 sighting in Colorado.
The video was submitted by a law enforcement officer. It shows red, blue and green lights flashing across the sky.
Some portions of the video were redacted by the Department of War to protect identities and the location of government facilities.
Fox News reported that the person who filmed the footage said the lights were hovering over a military site.
Unlike the 1952 footage, the 2023 video comes from a much more recent sighting, adding another chapter to the collection of UFO cases being reviewed by the government.
Donald Trump pushed for more UFO files
The latest release follows Donald Trump's call in February for the government to release more information about UFOs and related phenomena.

Government files related to alien and extraterrestrial life, unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP), and unidentified flying objects (UFOs),” Trump said on TruthSocial.

The Department of War said the files being released are classified as “unresolved cases.”
“Meaning the government is unable to make a definitive determination on the nature of the observed phenomena,” the department said.
It added, “Under this Administration, we will pursue the truth and share our findings with the American people.”
