LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: One-time Super Bowl champion Marshawn Lynch is teaming up with California Governor Gavin Newsom to launch a new podcast.
The 38-year-old former running back, famously known as 'Beast Mode', is set to co-host 'Politickin' with the 56-year-old reelected official, despite ongoing speculation that Newsom could replace Joe Biden on the 2024 ticket if the President decides not to run.

Marshawn Lynch's agent has known Gavin Newsom for a long time
Doug Hendrickson, Marshawn Lynch's longtime agent, reportedly shared a close connection with Gavin Newsom, and the two have known each other for decades. Promising to be a platform for "conversations that need to be had," the podcast will air weekly starting July 15.
According to NFL insider Adam Schefter, Newsom's team has been working on the show for over six months. Lynch and Newsom have reportedly been friends for years, with Newsom even serving as a character witness for Lynch in 2013 following a DUI arrest and personally calling NFL commissioner Roger Goodell to advocate for the Seahawks star, according to Politico.
Both Bay Area natives, Newsom and Lynch have also connected over local issues, such as California's "Skittles ban" on food additives found in sweets, which Lynch opposed. Known for his powerful running style and memorable moments on the field, Lynch has dabbled in sports media since retiring in 2019, serving as a commentator and analyst.
