WASHINGTON, DC: Former South Carolina governor and GOP candidate Nikki Haley recently made the headlines all across the country after she declined to say slavery was the cause of the US Civil War, as was stated in a report by The Guardian.

Following this, severe backlash mounted against Haley on social media, and one of the many people who chimed in on the matter was ‘The View’ host Ana Navarro.

Navarro took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share a clip of the GOP candidate which has since been circulated multiple times, and claimed “Nikky Haley seems a lot more articulate talking about the causes for foreign wars.”

On X, ‘The View’ host Ana Navarro shared the now-viral clip of Nikki Haley, where a voter asked her, “What was the cause of the United States Civil War?”

There was a brief pause as Haley walked around for a moment and an audible sigh was heard before she said, “Well, don’t come in with an easy question or anything. I think the cause of the Civil War was basically how the government was going to run. The freedoms and what people could and couldn’t do.”

She then questioned the voter, “What do you think the cause of the Civil War was?” His response followed along the lines of, “I’m not the one running for President.”

The GOP candidate then continued to talk before the voter mentioned “Slavery,” to which Haley’s response was, “What do you want me to say about slavery? Next question.”

As Navarro shared this video on social media, she wrote, “Nikky Haley seems a lot more articulate talking about the causes for foreign wars, than she does of our own Civil War.”

She added, “This is not a hard question lady. The US Civil War was fought over S-L-A-V-E-R-Y.”

Internet reacts to Ana Navarro’s remarks against Nikki Haley

After ‘The View’ host Ana Navarro called out Nikki Haley on her refusal to talk about slavery, the internet was quick to respond.

One user wrote, “Thank you Ana. We Love you” and another wrote, “This was like the easiest question ever…. How does someone mess it up. I don’t know”

"Pathetic!” wrote one user, and another wrote, “Shameful & cowardly.”

Haley continued to face backlash after Navarro’s response as one user wrote, “She was a pathetic coward, refusing to acknowledge US history,” and another wrote, “And she wants to be president? NEVER!”
