CHEROKEE COUNTY, ALABAMA: A fisherman from Alabama discovered human remains inside a truck that belonged to someone who had vanished more than ten years earlier.

An unidentified fisherman called the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office on Friday and reported about a vehicle at Weiss Lake, according to a press release from the agency.

Forensics lab to be consulted to confirm the identity of remains

In the murky waters of Weiss Lake in Cherokee County, Alabama, the fisherman reported seeing what looked to be a truck. The local police were shocked to discover human remains inside the truck when they pulled it over, as reported by Fox News.

Oscar Lewis King, who was last reported missing in north Alabama more than ten years ago, was identified by police as having a vehicle that matched his description. King was seventy-four years old when he vanished inexplicably in 2013.

Local stations stated that King's truck was a blue 2001 Dodge Dakota truck at the time of his disappearance. According to the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office, a forensics lab will be consulted to confirm the identity of the remains.
