WASHINGTON, DC: Rick Harrison struck a celebratory note for Donald Trump, calling him the 'best president ever' as he made a guest appearance at the White House's East Room for a small business summit.
“I’m a history buff, and I know a lot about this White House thing and everything,” the Las Vegas Gold & Silver Pawn Shop owner said on Monday, May 04.
“Literally, he’s going to go down as maybe the best president ever. I love this guy,” he added.
Rick Harrison praises Trump’s big beautiful bill
During the summit, Harrison heaped praise on Trump’s tax cuts, singling out his big beautiful bill. The One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA), signed into law by Trump on July 4, extends several provisions from the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA) while introducing new taxpayer-friendly measures.
At the same time, it places limits on certain individual and business deductions, revises aspects of international tax policy, and rolls back select incentives established under the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA).
“I just want to say he's amazing. He's done so much, I mean, so much for all of us,” Harrison said before adding that "the big beautiful bill was absolutely amazing. You know what I mean? God bless you for letting me get 100% appreciation."
At one point, Harrison also blasted former President Joe Biden for allegedly treating business owners like “bad people” who didn’t pay their fair share.
“The last guy in office, all we heard was that we were the evil people, we were the bad people, everything else like that, we don't pay our fair share, whatever that's supposed to be. And he made it tough,” he remarked.
Trump highlights advantages of new tax deduction
At the summit, the 79-year-old president himself delivered wide-ranging remarks, touching on everything from regulations and taxes to foreign policy.
He even pointed to his own business background, crediting it for a cost-saving renovation of the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool, opting to line it rather than replace the granite as originally planned.
Trump, striking a relatable note with his guests, said he might also take advantage of the new tax deductions for opening facilities once he leaves office.
“When I get out of office in, let’s say, eight or nine years from now, I’ll be able to use it. I’ll be able to use it myself,” Trump joked about his exit date.
“To ensure that you and your family can keep your businesses in the family, we virtually eliminated the unfair estate tax or death tax for farmers and for small businesses,” he added.
The president even spoke after touring a display of small-business products outside the White House East Room, pausing to admire what he called “beautiful pretzels.”
“Did you know that more people are working in the United States right now than ever before?” Trump said, adding, “That’s the end of that argument, and a lot of good things are happening.”
