Mary Magdalene underwent extreme surgeries worldwide
Denise Ivonne Jarvis Gongora, who gained fame online as Mary Magdalene, underwent numerous procedures, including multiple breast implants, butt lifts, nose jobs, and various fillers and injections. Many of these surgeries were reportedly performed illegally in different countries. Media reports estimate she spent nearly $500,000 on body modifications over the years.
Mary Magdalene faced life-threatening complications from surgeries
Her fascination with extreme body modifications led to multiple near-death experiences, including a deflated breast implant, an episode of sepsis, and complications from a failing butt implant. She also nearly lost her vision after tattooing her eyeballs.
In 2023, reflecting on her repeated surgeries, Gongora admitted, “It’s not a fun little adventure anymore, it’s just draining in every possible way. My time gets drained, my bank account, my energy, my health. And in the long run, you just kind of end up digging yourself into a really expensive time-consuming hole."
Mary Magdalene’s pre-surgery photos reveal transformation
Hours before her death, Gongora shared images inspired by the ending of the 1998 movie 'The Truman Show,' including the famous line, “In case I don’t see ya, good afternoon, good evening and good night,” alongside a childhood photo of herself. She also changed the username of one of her Instagram accounts to @MaryMagdaleneDied.
The social media star had around half a million followers, drawn to her extreme plastic surgeries. She was also an artist, recognized for her psychedelic paintings, sculptures, and self-portraits.
Gongora’s brother, Ivan, posted a tribute on Instagram on Thursday, December 11, sharing a pre-surgery photo and writing, “I wish I’d spent more getting to know you. You are so funny and so creative, way more than I’ll ever be. I love you much more than words will ever say. You are my world. I wish things were different. Thank you for everything I love you sis.”
