Phoebe Bridgers hospitalized with appendicitis as she cancels upcoming UK shows
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Phoebe Bridgers has announced the cancellation of her upcoming UK shows after being diagnosed with appendicitis.
After recently releasing her acclaimed solo album, ‘Lost Weekend’, the singer arrived in the UK for gigs and signings. She even played two sets on Monday, August 17, on her 32nd birthday, but had to cancel further shows due to the health scare.

Taking to her Instagram Stories on August 19, Bridgers shared a photo of herself from the hospital and said, “I got appendicitis for my birthday. Everything in the UK this week will have to move but I’ll make it up to you.”
In the next slide, the indie-rock artist posted another photo of herself and wrote, “Last known photo of me and my appendix.”
Taylor Swift praises Phoebe Bridgers’ new album
This came after Bridgers’ pal Taylor Swift gave her a shoutout after the release of her new album. The Grammy winner took to Instagram Stories on Monday and posted, “It’s her birthday, but she gave us a gift. Haven’t been able to stop listening. This album is an absolute triumph in every way.”
“To write about grief with such vulnerability and detail, and to trust the listener with this much honesty,” Swift added.
Phoebe Bridgers calls working with Taylor Swift ‘a dream’
Bridgers and the ‘Cruel Summer’ hitmaker have worked together several times, with Swift even collaborating with her on her 2021 track ‘Nothing New’.
At the time, the 32-year-old spoke with Billboard about her feelings. She said, “It’s just been a dream. I just am so excited to have people take it at face value the day that it comes out, because I got teary recording it. I just couldn’t be more excited.”

Bridgers also praised Swift, who recently got married to NFL star Travis Kelce, at the time by calling her “an incredible businessperson and an incredible writer.”
“What she’s been able to build just from writing adeptly from a young age is insane,” she added, before mentioning the 36-year-old’s decision to re-record her first six albums.
“It’s really inspiring for me and a lot of musicians. I think a lot of people make a couple of records [and are] like, ‘Oh wow, I hit the top, I’m great now,’ and the fact that she just has always wanted more from the world, like, ‘No, no, no, I’m going to make it again, I’m going to make it better, and it’s going to belong to me’, is the coolest,” Bridgers had stated.
